HELP! My lashes have gone weird after LV treatment

tigerbear · 23/10/2019 22:24

Had LV treatment about 1.5 months ago and looked fine to begin with.
Now at the point where it doesn’t look effective anymore, yet using a lash curler doesn’t work either.
My lashes seem much shorter and stubbier and grow in different directions, mascara doesn’t go on like it used to...
What to do?!

It last about 6 weeks. How long did they leave the solutions on?

it can be damaging

slipperywhensparticus · 23/10/2019 22:40

It can damage them do they feel dry?

NeedAnExpert · 23/10/2019 22:41

Lashes fall out every 28 days and they’re all on different growth cycles. So you will have lost old ones (curled) and new straight ones will have grown in. I have a lash lift every 4 weeks.

How long did you expect it to last?

tigerbear · 24/10/2019 08:00

They lasted about as long as I expected it to, about 4-5 weeks. I’m just at a loss to what to do now to make my lashes look ok again.
It honestly looks like they’re about half the length they used to be.
Not just re the LV thing. When I was about 20, I remember my lashes used to touch my brow bone, they were so long, with a few coats of mascara.
I’m 42 now - is it just the ageing process making them sparser/shorter??
No mascara I use these days actually is properly build able without going clumpy.
Can anyone recommend a decent one?
Been using Max Factor Lashfinity, Benefit, Rimmel, Sisley (worst one ever!!).

I’m 42 as well and my lashes don’t touch my brows anymore either. Sad

I have LVL every 4 weeks. Sometimes the lashes are all over the place and other times they behave. I use a tubing mascara that builds nicely (Clinique Flutter to Full). Should probably use a serum/black castor oil or something to help them grow longer but can’t get into a rhythm with it.

Polly99 · 24/10/2019 08:20

I think shorter lashes are definitely age related. You could try some Rapidlash. My lashes fell out a lot less when I was using it and although I didn’t manage to get any photos that actually show a difference I swear they were a bit longer and thicker.

UpToonGirl · 24/10/2019 09:40

I had lvl a few months ago and after 4 weeks or so I noticed my lashes were much shorter than normal and looked damaged. I've been using rapidlash and L'Oréal eyelash serum and they are much better now.

Not sure if the solution was on my lashes for too long or if lvl just isn't great for my lashes but I won't be getting it done again.

NeedAnExpert · 24/10/2019 10:27

L'Oréal eyelash serum

I don’t love my eyelashes enough to buy anything Nestle are involved with. Sad

20viona · 24/10/2019 10:29

LVL coats the entire lash so it grows out with your lashes. I had mine done yesterday and it took 14 Weeks for them to Totally grow out. My beautician refuses to
Do them again until they are totally out otherwise it messes them
Up.

NeedAnExpert · 24/10/2019 10:34

Mine uses a perm solution which is then neutralised. Maybe that’s the difference.

RedPandaFluff · 24/10/2019 10:36

I've had several LVL treatments at the same salon (with the same person) and had variable results each time, although the best results were the earlier ones. It went badly wrong the last time - my lashes looked crimped and dry, they were awful. I haven't had them done since! I do think it's very damaging for lashes and I'd probably only get it done maybe twice a year now, for holidays etc.

tigerbear · 24/10/2019 11:58

I’ve bought a new mascara this morning and it looks great 👍👍
L’Oréal Miss Baby Roll (rubbish name, but great product) I didn’t even curl my lashes before applying, and still looks 100% better than before.
I’ve got a bottle of castor oil at home, so will start to use as a serum.

It’s black castor oil you need (and be careful, it can cause cysts on your eyes).

I couldn’t bring myself to buy from any nestle owned company, no matter how good the product. I can’t contribute to babies suffering in the way they do. Sad

Glitterb · 24/10/2019 13:02

Mine sometimes do this, which is why I stopped having them done. My lashes are naturally very long and straight and sometimes set the wrong way and looked crap! LVLs are great for holiday though
