Flat knee boots for chunky of calf?

ImBarryScott · 15/08/2007 14:14

Right, need new boots for work. Must be flat, as I am forever schlepping of to appointments and my current boots knacker my feet.

Knee high, for wearing with cords skirts etc ('tis fairly casual work environment. I need to be able to get a chunky calf in without creating over-spillage.

I was thinking like these maybe?

Or does anyone have any better ideas?

I really like them.

binklehasflipped · 15/08/2007 14:38

LaRedoute do some nice flat boots

ImBarryScott · 15/08/2007 14:56

thanks binkle. are they, um, generously cut?

I rather like them but would get brown myself.
are they really long enough? (I suffer this too)

serenity · 15/08/2007 15:00

I like those Barry

I got a copy of the new SimplyBe catalogue yesterday, and I'm pretty sure they're now doing a range with wider calf measurements, let me have a look online...

rosealbie · 15/08/2007 15:01

You could always try Duo for boots. They are more expensive but their boots come in many different calf measurements for either smaller or larger legs. They are fab and after years of trying to get decent boots to fit properly, I did get a pair last autumn (had to splash out about £100) but they measured me in store and perfect fit. There are a wide range of styles and they all fitted me. Liberating!

They have various stores but do mail order too.

serenity · 15/08/2007 15:03

Not much help, wider calf measurements but evil high heels, sorry!

ImBarryScott · 15/08/2007 15:09

mrs. B - not sure re the length. am 5' 9" as well, so boots always tricky.

re: the colour. not a huge fan of black (have no balck shoes) but have just bogout 2 black skirts. brown boots with black skirt ?

ah I do not do black clothes so would choose something like this
(Jones are good for publishing exact lengths and calf dimensions)
but the Viva la Diva ones are v good value esp if they have a good returns policy

Dropdeadfred · 15/08/2007 16:21

don't think that link works mrs B?

ThingOne · 15/08/2007 16:23

Duo boots are fab - highly recommended.

MrsBadger · 15/08/2007 16:24

I have had 0 success with Clarks boots despite my love of their shoes
think I am the wrong shape.

Gemy · 18/08/2007 12:21

Duo definatly. You can buy online and just input your mesurements. I have bought twice from there and have found the quality excellent. I think they are well worth the money.

evans but they don't seem to have that many at the moment

tribpot · 18/08/2007 13:29

Duo is the way to go, they are brilliant.

ImBarryScott · 18/08/2007 14:00

Ta everyone! might try the cheapo vivaladiva ones first, and then splash out on Duo if the former create spillage issues .

Another vote for Evans. My calves (calfs?!)are pork-tastic and I have no problems in there.

The Duo Boots site looks really good though, I might try them this year.

SassySarah · 12/09/2007 15:22

You can't beat Duo. I was dubious about spending that much at first but they fit perfectly and the quality is excellent so you wont need to buy again next year (unless like me you want to!) How about these red ones for a splash of colour www.duoboots.com/calf_fitted_boots/casual/bern

sarahlou1uk · 12/09/2007 15:28

Go to www.fashionworld.co.uk or simply be. They do a range of boots that come in various leg widths. I've bought a pair of knee high ones that I comfortable fit into and I've got the widest calves around!
