Hello power of MN,
I’m coming to visit family in the Uk next week. The exchange rate is good (obvs my home country to £) and I am desperately in need of an autumn/winter wardrobe.
I’m a teacher, looking for work and pleasure stuff, size 12-14, slightly fat hips and tummy. Need (biker?) (snakeskin?) boots too. Possibly a winter coat.
Hit me with your best highstreet shopping tips 🙏

Dorothy Perkins are good for bottom heavy people.

I also find New Look and Matalan good.

Don't discount the supermarkets, ASDA George and TU by Sainsburys are on a par quality wise with the above mentioned shops. George shoes and boots last well and I find them very comfy. They're also good for nice wintery fluffy socks.

I saw these biker boots in Clarks that might fit the bill?

Depends what you normally spend on an item of clothes/shoes. e.g. you could spend £20/50/200/500 on a pair of biker boots, all on the high street...

If you are at the lower end of the budget, or what to go for quantity over quality, then Primark or the supermarkets.

Next and M&S would be mid-range for all the things you want.

If you want a few quality items that will last/remind you of your trip, then go for Cos, Jaegar, Hobbs for smart work stuff, Toast for coats, knitwear, boots, or Russell and Bromley for boots or a department store like Selfridges or Browns for designer stuff like Max Mara

You haven't said where you are from, but lots of our high street are ubiquitous the world over. Zara, Mango, H&M are the same everywhere you go.

Tk max is great for coays, have a look on their website to get an idea. You may be lucky with boots there too, Always worth a look

Great advice people, thank you!

The Clark’s boots are quite nice but I wouldn’t mind a tad chunkier...

Where I live we have Zara and H&M but I don’t get much time to shop normally anyway.

Is Mint Velvet worth a visit? Or Oasis?

Good idea about the supermarkets. I’ll check them out too 😊
