Can anyone help me find a WW2 evacuee outfit for a girl who doesn't like dresses please?

She refuses to wear a dress.

Have no idea what to get.

Send her in shorts as a boy?

Will she go as a boy?

Does it have to be an evacuee, when it was WWII day at my DD's school they could dress up as land girls (dungarees, or denim straps sewn on to charity shop jeans for my DD!).
