Help pls! Best way to remove facial hair and help with pores

Hi all,

Basically, I need to rid myself of my moustache!! 🙈

I also seem to have enlarged pores on my nose and chin at the minute - attractive eh?! What is a good product to help tackle or disguise them pls?!

I've just had my top lip waxed! Went to a salon, was £7. So pleased I did it, got a few bumps after as I've never had it waxed before but they've gone now. Didn't want to risk doing it myself!

The twiddly metal coil thing... An epistick. Does the same as threading but you can do it sitting on the sofa watching telly and they are about £1 on ebay... If I'd have known earlier I would have saved A LOT of time and money on going and getting it waxed/threaded over the years! Only thing it doesn't really work is the eyebrow area, and for me the forehead bit between my eyebrows and hairline, as its hard to get the right angle. But for moustache it's perfect!

Well... I'm a seasoned waxer/plucker/threader so I think my skin is quite desensitised to the pain, so you may find it stings to begin with.

Other than that, I'd say not looking in the mirror whilst doing it is probably easiest as otherwise you might end up in a bit of a muddle. Bend it in half and twiddle the ends whilst holding it against your skin. Took me a while to get a hang of it but you'll find your flow!

I've bought a few different ones as some are stiffer than others and I prefer the more flexible ones with the cylindrical ends rather than the bulbous ends

I shave the moustache and fill the pores with Maybeline Babyskin (which is way cheaper and works better for me than Hourglass and Smashbox).

Ooh, I’ll look into the Maybelline. Just tried a no7 one this morning and recently Clarins - no good for my pores on my chin!

I spent years putting hair removing cream on my top lip. I then used my DH sharp mac 3 and now do that once or twice a week, no more red sesnsitive skin from creams and lovely and smooth all the time in seconds.

Op for pores try the ordinary regime for combination skin as it is not too pricey also maybe the nip and fab range and the balance me range. I haven’t tried them but have read really good things about them on here. It seems that harsh scrubs are out and gentle acids are in new formulations as scrubbing won’t get down into the skin to clean them.

I've done the lot with the hair removal. Bleach looks shit, waxing pulls your skin, epistick is OK but not as effective as waxing, I've a Lumea which helps a bit BUT I started dermaplaning with a little razor and it is brill. The pores get sorted with an acid - the Ordinary or Paula's Choice BHA. Medication ruined my skin; I'm glad to be alive but I wish it hadn't left me so zitty and dry as sandpaper! I'm winning though.

I have been using glycolic acid pads and then switched to Pixi Retinol Tonic - should any of these help with enlarged pores at all?

Dermaplaning - what blade/razor do you use? Does it regrow coarse or stubbly?

I’ve used the acid and retinol (not at same time!), for anti-aging and glow purposes

I use the tinkle eyebrow razors. Hold at a 45° angle and gently run over your face in the opposite direction to the growth of the hair. Hair cannot grow back more coarse/in greater volume - you've got what hair follicles you've got! If that did happen, balding men would be able to shave their heads to regrow hair...
