‘In’ brands for a 12 year old boy

What brands are ‘in’ for an 12 year old boy? I need to buy DS a new winter coat and a few other bits. He likes Nike trainers but beyond that is fairly clueless about what’s in, although he desperately wants to fit in. Before I get flamed, he has high functioning ASD and struggles socially - although he doesn’t really know what is “cool”, he knows he wants to be like the cool kids, and anything we can do to minimise the stress of having the “wrong” gear at school will be a good thing (and hopefully avoid costly mistakes).

Would a North Face jacket be good? Jack Wolfskin? We need warm, waterproof, outdoorsy. He hates coming shopping, and gets overwhelmed looking online, so taking him with me to choose something isn’t an option - I probably need to narrow it down to 2 or 3 online choices. Thank you.

Also shoes/trainers are very important.

Nike Air Force one seem to be the thing here.

Champion, Adidas, Abercrombie, Superdry, Animal, Vans, Lacoste and Hollister.

Thanks all - and FthisS Flowers. It’s funny how things like choosing a winter coat or trainers can be so triggering - this kind of should-be-normal activity really throws into sharp relief our challenges.

Superdry definitely not cool amongst the 12 & 13 yr olds here (Berkshire)
They all wear north face, vans, hollister, Nike.

Not very helpful suggestions for 12yr olds to have stone island and supreme etc where a coat so upwards of £600. The only ones around here that have those brands are either older teens earning own money (even the ‘rich’ kids don’t have those brands) or those that have been on holiday to turkey or other countries where fakes are rife.

My 12yo wears a north face and Adidas coat/jacket. Although, he's aggrieved that I won't replace them with a napapijiri jacket, which is what all his friends seem to be currently wearing.

We're in East Lancashire though.
