Autumn dressing for blue eyed, pale blondes

Anyone else struggle during Autumn and Winter due to 95% of clothes/shoes/accessories being so dark?

With the vast majority of stuff in the shops being black, navy, wine, dark green, brown, I feel like a cotton bud draped in a shroud.

So if you’re light skinned, light haired and light eyed, tell me what you’re wearing. I’m trying to avoid the siren call of head to toe beige for now and I feel that red is a bit too ... jaunty.

I found the Kettlewell stuff the same! I thought it was just me due to podge Grin

Oh that’s disappointing about kettlewell. I always think about buying from them.

I know people who seem to suit their clothes and they have s good returns policy @PullingMySocksUp so worth a try.

I am a size 18 with much curvage which I think is why they don’t suit me.

Some folks like Uniqlo for the range of colours, personally I find the quality a bit lacking? Got a nice scarf from there though

NightsOfCabiria · 16/10/2019 07:13

Yes, some Uniqlo stuff is nice but the colours lean towards sludge.

I really want to like Kettlewell but the fabrics are so disappointing. Im a size 10 and 5’6” with 22% bodyfat so not fat by any means but even a size 14/Large top clings unflatteringly. If i buy a loose style in a 10/12 or M it just hangs from the boobs unflatteringly. There seems no medium ground.

Compared to, say, Bjaulkin or whatever they’re called, now they do beautiful jersey tops/skirts with real weight (double layer) and flattering cuts. Normally £100+ though.

I think most things ive had from kettlewell have just been slightly ‘off.’ So, a scratchy infinity scarf or a skirt that’s just a bit too short or unflattering cap sleeves etc.. It’s a good effort but not quite there. Plus, everything i want is permanently out of stock (any size 10/12 nice colour long sleeved top for instance. Every year i try to buy the things advertised in their brochure but theyre always sold out. Such a sham. I’d wear much more colour if it was available.

Blonde with v blue eyes and pale blue skin
I wear white, greys from silver onward
Griege
Black, French navy, navy
Sequins in the evening a little if going out
I’m disinterested by seasonal dressing or colour codes. I have no interest in aping deciduous trees
I use different fabrics and the same colour palate

That made me laugh. Yes, it’s all a bit much isnt it, especially when most of it doesnt suit you.
