Wedding dress doubts. Again!

I’ve put my deposit down on my dress last month, almost ordered another two dresses but I am the most indecisive person in the world! I really liked it and was happy with my decision when I put the deposit down but I’ve been google searching it constantly and looking at it on real brides and I’m no longer sure it’s the one? I never had the ‘bridal’ feeli everyone talks about just thought it was the best of everything I tried and could really see anything I didn’t like about it (at the time) now I’m wondering if the lace looks a bit cheap, whether I like the slight plunging neckline etc etc. The dress I’m referring to is in the first pic.

So I was browsing stillwhite to try and find more pictures of real brides in my dress and came across a dress I tried last year and absolutely loved but vetoed as it was more than I wanted to pay (at that time) however fast forward to September this year and I ended up paying the exact amount for a dress I didn’t love as much. The dress on still white has been reduced from £1700 to £500, has never been worn and is near exactly my size. I’m getting married in Cyprus and I feel the crepe material is more appropriate for a destination wedding than the heavy lace on the dress if already paid for.

My wedding is in June so I don’t know if I just panic bought my dress because I was running out of time or if I will put it on again when it comes into the shop and remember why I loved it so much

I’ve already paid £830 for my dress and another £830 is due when it comes in. So I stand to lose a substantial amount of money if I change my mind, but then again with the second dress only being £500 it will cost me less overall. So I will have shelled out £1330 for a £1700 dress which isn’t all in all too bad. Plus I would be paying more in alterations as I was actually going to have off the shoulder straps custom made for my dress. The dress on still white comes with them

I’ve attached two pics. My dress I’ve ordered is the first pic, it’s a Stella york (mine is in Ivory, not in the blush pink on the pic). The one on still white is the second dress it as a san Patrick by pronovias

@Mumtobe193 deff try them both on if you can as you will be more aware of the differences and which you prefer. Also check second dress and whether it's been altered already if second hand as that could cause hassle (and expense).

I like the first dress better, it's very similar to my wedding dress.

The second one looks cheaper.

I got married abroad also and was not too hot in mine but I did get married later in the evening.

@ineedanotherholiday I’m getting married in the evening too and the ceremony is indoors so not too concerned about the heat

@Yukka the seller says the dress hasn’t been altered so I should be good. The seller sent me a pic of the order form with the brides measurements and she has the exact same waist and hip measurement as me, just 3 inches bigger around the boobs so it would just be a case of taking the top in a little I’d imagine.

The first one is stunning

Went to the bridal shop to try on dress no.2, it did not suit me! But .., something else caught my eye, so I did a total 360 and ended up trying an entirely different dress, and loved it!! I am so so happy with my choice! I am 1 million and 10 percent on this dress and I would never have thought in a million years I could pull off a plunge neck ball gown. First time I had that ‘bridal’ feeling, (I was very close to tears, but I’m not a cryer) and I can’t wait to wear my big princess ballgown on my big day, turns out I was looking at all the wrong dresses all along and if I had given a ballgown half the chance I’d have known earlier how much I love them! ❤️

Good, glad you’re happy with the new one!

Mumtobe193 · 13/10/2019 02:00

I don’t feel like i need to trawl the internet looking at bridal dresses anymore so I must have found the one ❤️

That is a beautiful dress and, if that's you in it, it totally suits you and will be ideal for your Cypriot wedding. Is it silk organza?

I wasn't keen on either of your first two choices, but this third one is a winner and I love the floaty layered skirt - you'll look cool even if you're roasting.

So, how much was it and are you still obliged to pay the outstanding sum on your first choice?
