HELP! PLease ..please...dress me for my new regime of running/pilates??!!

Ok..going to bite the bullet and join my glam sister in law's pilate class and jogging team! I know it shouldn't matter hugely what you wear when being a sweaty betty but got 4 kiddiwinks and just want not to think about it..put the gear on look reasonable and get out the door. Anything flattering would be a plus of course and fairly plainish !..need the works..trainers and all! Really needs to be online if poss.

I would go with black Adidas trousers, with a sports vest and matching jackes.

tk max do loads of stuff suitable for pilates and running.

if you are running you have to go to a decent running shop and spend 60-80 squid minimum on a decent pair that fit you or else you will hurt yourself.

get a hardcore sports bra for running - there are lots of shops on line do free delivery and returns for sportsbras - try boobydoo.

you can get away with a less hardcore bra for pilates again i really recommned tk max cos you canget good ones for about a fiver.

oh - and for pilates i really like the pineapple stuff.

If you're serious about carrying on both forms of exercise you need to get your trainers sorted first. I don't know where you are in the country, but you need to look in the back of 'runners world' magazine for instance for local specialist running shops - they normally advertise there (you may also find them online) BUT don't shop online. Go in and describe what you're doing - you should pay about £60-£90 for a good pair that feel 'light and confortable' when running. I always run in a long t shirt and above knee lycra shorts (hence the long t shirt!!) Get some running socks too - 1000 mile or really thin, supportive ones work well but they are expensive (£10-20 each often, although you can probably get them cheaper online) These should stop you getting blisters, especially is your mileage isn't high at first. Build up slowly - there are some great training programmes on www.runnersworld.co.uk

As for fashion in pilates - in my classes you get all sorts - short or long bottoms - can be flattering boot cut lycra thingies and shorter top than for running (so the teacher can check out your tummy - I've been accused of being a bag lady when I turn up in my running stuff!! I don't care) Really though - it's up to you. TK Maxx are good if you're not flush, otherwise try any of the sports online places and go for it!
