Cartier tank solo

Anyone have one? I prefer a leather strap usually but Cartier's own website says to expect to replace it every 12 months and at c£200 a pop the braclet strap becomes more attractive.

To preempt the inevitable comments: yes I know it has a huge price tag, no I don't need it, yes I know Cartier isn't a 'proper' watchmaker, yes I can afford it, yes I'm aware I could give the money to charity instead.

A lot of the Cartier’s are battery operated. Many watch collectors don’t think that’s a proper watch! The Jaeger snd Rolex models don’t have batteries. That’s the difference. It not that Cartier are not good watches but they don’t have a winding mechanism!

I wanted a Cartier but DH got me a Rolex. What's the face of the Cartier made of? The "glass" on the Rolex is sapphire or something and it's totally scratch proof. I totally abuse it and it looks like new.

I'd love a Patek Phillipe just so I don't have to adjust the date on short months 😂

Battery smattery. Cartiers look absolutely class. Beautiful design.

@BubblesBuddy my JLC is a battery operated quartz. I heard from a friend that her mechanical one doesn’t actually keep very good time...

Bought one last week as local jeweller managed to get one, said they are in short supply at the mo.

Traditional watches don’t always keep the best time. However watch collectors don’t want battery watches. They don’t really see them as perfection. That’s just the way it is. However, you don’t buy a watch for collectors. You buy it for you and battery watches often are more reliable. However they are just not timepieces like a Patek or Rolex. I’m only really saying what the difference is. I’m not persuading anyone not to have a Cartier. I have one!
