Greasy skin and hair in 30s?

DumbleDork · 01/10/2019 14:46

Any tips to help? I’m 33 and my skin and hair the last few months have been getting more and more oily. I used to be able to go 2 days between washing my hair but now if I wash my hair in the morning by evening it’s so greasy my hair hangs in strands and if I put my fingers on my parting they are glistening. But the ends are quite dry and it gets frizzy along the length and is a bit brittle.

And my skin is much the same, I’ll wash my face in the morning and by lunchtime it’s so shiny and again if I rub my fingers on my face they are glistening.

Any ideas on how to manage it? And also why it could be happening?

Thanks

I’m 40 and within a couple of hours of washing my face my skin is shiny with oil. I have to wash my hair daily otherwise my head looks like a grease zone. It’s grim and I’d give anything to have dry hair and skin!

I get this when I am stressed / run down and also if I have a hormone inbalance ( pregnancy / peri menopausal now !)
I tend to use vosene- the old fashioned green bottle- and only use conditioner on the ends . For my skin I use the clinique 3 step regime
It usually clears up when I've sorted myself out with more sleep and healthier diet

I have no answers but this is me too. My hair isn’t particularly greasy and I can go three days between washing but I am experiencing hairloss and my skin has got a lot greasier tying in with the hairloss starting. Hormones? I’m not sure but I’m forty next year and apparently not menopausal xx

Niacinamide is good for oily skin, I really like the Garden of wisdom niacinamide serum from Victoria Health. Also Dr Hauschka clarifying day oil, it seems to balance out oily skin.
