Just that really, I've used c and p for about 15 years and spied the Aldi one yesterday. Any thoughts and opinions? How does it compare?

I didn't like it, it gave me terrible spots. I was so hopeful I bought four tubes! I've given them away now. It certainly felt and even smelt the same but my skin didn't like it at all. I've got combination skin and am in my 40's.

nancy75 · 30/09/2019 11:28

Not Aldi but Superdrug do one that’s similar called naturally radiant hot cloth cleanser

nancy75 · 30/09/2019 11:29

I’m 44 with quite dry skin & I like the Superdrug one

LaPampa · 30/09/2019 11:32

I bought the Aldi one for a camping trip and it’s ok but not as nice as the liz Earle one.

lickencivers · 30/09/2019 11:36

I was also a devoted liz earle lover but switched to Superdrug's version happily.

LauraPalmersBodybag · 30/09/2019 11:55

Yy for Superdrug

katseyes7 · 30/09/2019 11:58

Another one for Superdrug. l used Liz Earle C & P for 20 years but thought it was getting ridiculously expensive. l stock up on the Superdrug one when it's buy one get one free, and it works out at about £3 a tube. lt does a brilliant job.

MinesaPinot · 30/09/2019 13:10

Freshstart40 Same here. I liked it for about a week, during which time I stocked up, and then it made me horrendously dry and gave me spots. I didn't like the Pixi Glow dupe either. I ended up giving mine away as well.

TattiePants · 30/09/2019 13:34

This doesn't sound very promising. My Liz Earle is about to run out and I have the Aldi dupe to try next!

frugalkitty · 30/09/2019 15:06

I found the Aldi one too strong, though definitely a dupe of C&P so I ended up giving it away. That said, I can't use any face creams from Aldi as they make my eyes water.

Bluesheep8 · 30/09/2019 15:39

I like the Aldi face creams so fancied giving the cleanser a go in a bid to save cash

I love the Aldi one, I prefer it to the Superdrug version (not keen on the smell).

florriepeck · 30/09/2019 16:36

DS's other half bought me the Aldi version to try, knowing that I'm a LE devotee of many years.
It's okay to use now and again to eke out the LE supply, but not sure if I'll buy regularly.
Also, it's not suitable for eye make up removal (says on tube), and the LE C&P is fine for that.

GemmeFatale · 30/09/2019 16:38

I like the Aldi one. I also like their moisturisers though

CT78 · 30/09/2019 19:57

I found that I had an outbreak every time I used the Aldi one as well. I had a sample of the M&S version and was impressed with that so am tempted to give that a try next time I run out.

WhatsInAName19 · 30/09/2019 20:00

Don’t like the Aldi or Superdrug versions. They don’t perform well on my skin. For the money they are fine but Liz Earle is head and shoulders above.

CadiM · 30/09/2019 20:05

I'm another one who had spots when using the Aldi cleanser and Pixi dupe. Spots cleared up when I went back to the Superdrug versions. My skin can't tell the difference between C&P and Naturally Radiant.

MrsMaryMooFace · 30/09/2019 20:30

I was using Sukin cream cleanser before I tried Liz Earle, I found it really good. But loving the luxury of LE! Silly really, but the LE definitely feel more special!

Divebar · 30/09/2019 21:15

I’ve been fine with the Aldi one although I don’t use it everyday and have slightly sensitive skin. I found an article on Pinterest by a chemist (I think ) comparing the ingredients in both and apparently there’s very little difference between the two. Apparently Aldi uses it as a “ loss leader” eg - it costs more to make it than they sell it for but they use it as a way to get people to the brand. Who knows if any of that is true.

Divebar · 30/09/2019 21:20

www.honestyforyourskin.co.uk/lacura-hot-cloth-cleanser/

This is the article. For the price I would suggest giving it a go.

PastTippingPoint · 30/09/2019 21:24

My skin doesn't like it either, bought it based on MN recommendation but my skin is a lot oilier and I've had more outbreaks since using it. I had managed to get it under control with the Liz Earle cleanser. Will give the Superdrug one a try though!

ethelfleda · 30/09/2019 21:50

Haven’t used it but I can recommend the Superdrug one - it’s wonderful and a fraction of the price!

Justjill88 · 01/10/2019 19:27

Although Liz Earle C&P is not cheap, it is much cheaper when bought through QVC - especially when in a set as a Today's Special Value

Ohyesiam · 01/10/2019 19:31

Really surprised people like the Superdrug version. It seemed like thick cheap hand cream to me.

Bluesheep8 · 02/10/2019 06:00

Yep, qvc is where I usually get mine from but my last 2 orders (revitalash and bare minerals) didn't arrive and I had to mess about filling forms in to get replacements sent...been using the Aldi one and it's not bad but not quite the same. Will use it til I can replace my Liz Earle I think and then keep it for emergencies.
