Black outfit without looking like an 80s throwback goth

Morning!
I have a black dress and jacket knee length work outfit. I have terrible thread veins on my legs so would usually choose quite thick black tights. 40 denier plus. Then it’s all just a bit too black. (I usually wear trousers for this reason.) Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Despite my username meaning I favour the 80s Goth look...how about tights in another colour. Grey, wine, mustard. See what you like the look of in M&S.

...and/or non black footwear, jewellery, scarf...

Maybe knee-length boots instead of tights?

Micro-fishnets are much more flattering than thick tights.

I mostly wear all black. Just mix up the accessories (scarves!) and I’m good to go. :)
