So what DO SAHMs wear?

I had my DD in April. I have been lucky enough to lose most of my pregnancy weight but my boobs are bigger than before (now 36DD) and I just feel I have changed shape (now size 10/12). When I worked I was happy in wrap dresses, skirts and tops with little cardis etc. for work and jeans at the weekend. However, now that I am having to dress smart/casual every day of the week I seem to have totally lost my way ... and confidence and don't know what to wear other than jeans!

What do you wear as a SAHM? What are you wearing today? Inspire me!

I have lived in linen trews this summer - I had forgotten how great they were

FunkyGlassSlipper · 12/08/2007 20:49

I wear denim skirts, combats & jeans along with v-neck t-shirts, wrap tops or vests on top.

Collision, as long as your hair is not long, loose and straggly (if so, put it up)you can do it. Sunglasses help too.
Tip: Cropped leggings do need a bit of heel to elongate the ankle, and they need to stop just below the knee (I pull mine up a bit) or they'll draw attention to the fattest bit of your shin.

mmmm. I get your point bouquets. I have a shortish bob that goes shaggy or straight depending on if I have GHDd it.

can do shades.

Just wonder if my knees are a bit fat for leggings.

summer- cropped trousers and strappy top/tshirt and cardie.

winter- jeans and long tshirt/cardie, sometimes (horror) tracksuits and trainers!!!

I do make an effort at the weekend though, i always wear nice trousers/top and makeup jewellry nice shoes as we usually go out on a saturday and on a sunday morning at the KH i wear a dress/top/skirt.

i feel its important for me to at least look nice twice a week for my own self esteem.

right now my pjs because I am busy trying to get packed for holiday on weds and I have a million things to do before then. I wear mostly Vivienne Westwood which is far too expensive and sometimes a little weird and my winter wardrobe is far more exciting than summer. I made a point after ds was born to look much more fab than after dd was born (when I wore mostly sick covered clothes and rags ).

I wear stretch jeans or shorts & a t-shirt most of the time & on hot days I wear a sundress. No shoes. I also go around the house in a baggy pair of shorts & a sports bra, wasting time before facing the inevitable 40 mins on the crosstrainer.

AufishFeQueen · 13/08/2007 11:45

I either wear jeans, black trousers, brown wool trousers in winter, linen trousers or cropped trousers or every now and then a nice skirt in the summer

Top wise, winter you will find me wearing polo necks with tops layered over the top, in the summer, vest tops and this year, I've been wearing smock tops.

I accessorize with scarves or necklaces and bracelets.

I wear either boots, flip flops, ballet pumps and wedges.

I had to say that I wore t-shirts and yoga trousers right until dd was 9 months old.

Now that she is 15 months old and I'm less knackered, I make more of an effort.

Today I wore a navy blue linen top, cropped beige trousers, and a white cardi.

Since it has been really hot for the past couple of weeks, I wore dresses and my jeans skirt. When it's cooler days I wear jeans with a smart casual top and try to steer clear of t-shirts which is my always my fall back option.

I wore a lot of tunic tops and floral shirt dresses this year too.
