Anyone done this? I've tried a few times and the cut never seems right. Anyone show me a photo of how they've had it cut? Or tips? Thank you!

I have very thick frizzy hair which I've had in a short crop for about 10 years. I think the key is to make sure your hairdresser isn't afraid to really get in there with the clippers. I've found a lot of them still have this thing about hair as a "crowning glory" and they're reluctant to take the volume out as much as they should. So you end up with a mushroom, basically, especially round the back. I'm currently trying to grow mine out but I don't think it's suiting me and I may well get it all clippered off at my next appointment.

I did it - have very thick wavy hair - and it was fab. I also found styling powder worked well for creating texture. Had it from when the kids were 0 to 7 and it was really easy to style. Did need a cut once very 6 weeks.

However, growing it out has not been fun! I’m 18 months in - it’s been painfully slow and has involved some helmet head days/weeks.

Seems like some really mixed reviews on going short. I’m so torn on what to do!! Currently it takes 3 hours to do my hair at the hairdressers as it’s that thick and long. I haven’t got the time or energy to style it at home. I thought going short would be the answer but I really don’t know.

I went from bra strap straight to Claire Underwood crop three years ago. Absolutely love it. I wash every 2 days which is all it needs but it does need to be cut regularly. My hairdresser uses a straight edge razor which really takes the weight out and gives a lighter finish to the cut.
