I have just bought these online in burgundy and am having second thoughts... Has anyone got them who can talk me in or out of them?

I'll try and link.

Ooh nice. They are going to hurt like hell breaking them in though. Leather looks really stiff.

PersephoneThePony · 26/09/2019 16:25

Yeah, they're definitely going to be a killer to break in aren't they? But they are nice... but will they date? I can't really tell. I would never say that about flat DMs, which I think are fairly timeless, but I wonder about the heel...

MikeUniformMike · 26/09/2019 16:28

I don't like the heel. The flat ones are classics but those ones are naff.

Fairylea · 26/09/2019 16:31

They’re very trendy and will hurt like hell. They probably won’t be “in” next year but if you like them go for it!

SnugglySnerd · 26/09/2019 16:55

I prefer the flat ones too. They are quite nice but expensive if you never wear them.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 26/09/2019 17:00

Not a fan, sorry.

I love DM's but not heeled ones, they just seem odd and a bit wrong.

The platform DM's are amazing, I have a glitter pair which I
love so much.

PersephoneThePony · 26/09/2019 17:27

I think I agree with pps... I don't like the heel. I tried to cancel the order about an hour after I'd made it and they said too late already! I'll have to return them and buy some flat ones.

OP posts:
MikeUniformMike · 26/09/2019 17:36

You might like them when they turn up, and they're not really naff just not the flat ones i know and love.
Nice colour.

EraOfTheGrey · 26/09/2019 17:49

I have the Chelsea boot version and I love them. I bought them 2 years ago and there was absolutely no breaking in needed. I own over a dozen pairs of DM's both classics, heels, platforms, shoes and even a pair of sandals.

They are comfortable but heavy.

EraOfTheGrey · 26/09/2019 17:51

I might actually buy these next.

TrippinOut · 26/09/2019 17:53

I love them

Who gives a fuck of they are 'in' next year?

DMs are timeless and I've had patent black heeled ones for about 4 years!

Puppylucky · 26/09/2019 17:59

I love them!

PersephoneThePony · 26/09/2019 18:20

I mean... maybe I'll love them in person. The heel really isn't big, so they aren't far off flatform really.

We'll see when they arrive. I've been meaning to buy Oxblood DMs for ages and then when I was looking online, these caught my eye.

I have to say I didn't buy them from asos, but they are the exacr same boots from Very. I just couldn't get the link to work from there.

Noooo keep them! They are so cool and they will never go 'out'! Love them and my friend has just bought the black shrivers and they look awesome.

phoenixrosehere · 26/09/2019 18:58

I have ones similar with a higher heel, but in oxblood. They look amazing on. My husband convinced me to buy them. He has some DMs that are over a decade old. I want to wear them now, but the weather isn’t right just yet.

PersephoneThePony · 26/09/2019 20:41

Ooooh I'm excited to see how they look in person now!

rain and phoenix, did your friend / you find them hard to break in?

OP posts:
RainWoman19 · 26/09/2019 21:35

Only just bought them last week so no complaints yet! Iv never had a problem with any of my docs..i have 5 pairs now including clarissa ii quad sandals and none have been any bother to break in! X

StrangersToLove · 26/09/2019 21:40

I have the chelsea boot version of these and they don't require any breaking in. The leather is much softer than the original docs. They are very heavy though!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 26/09/2019 21:53

Omg hey are fantastic 😍

LadyOfTheFlowers · 26/09/2019 21:53

*they

PandaPantaloon · 27/09/2019 00:18

I have them and like them, like someone said I do find them heavy though. The price on asos is a bit steep. I paid less than that on littlewoods.

Ladybirdbookworm · 27/09/2019 00:54

I have these and I love them ...not at all hard to break in, I rubbed a bit of vaseline on the back of my leg where the top of the boot was rubbing the first time I wore them. They are much easier to wear in than any of the other DMs I own.
I agree with the PP who said they are heavy but I quite like that because they feel supportive and sturdy . Keep them .

PersephoneThePony · 27/09/2019 07:38

Yes, they were about £40 cheaper on Very too. On sale I think.

They are arriving today, so I will be able to get a good look at them then and maybe try them on with some outfits. I already know what I think they'll go with, which I think is a good sign.

PersephoneThePony · 29/09/2019 12:35

They're going back Sad. They are lovely, but not right for me. I'm a tall apple, with size 7 feet, so they didn't look quite right somehow...

I'm going to get some flat ones as a birthday present... quite possibly from myself 😂.
