I won’t post a Daily Fail link but she looks effortlessly gorgeous in bootcut jeans, a plain black top and a black scarf. How does she do it? When I try, I look like I’m taking the bins out!

Also, are bootcut jeans back?

I had a pair of Long & Lean which I got for my 18th birthday. I don't think I could go back as I don't have the size 8 flat tummy to go with them any more and they tended to sit really low on the hips. They looked great at the time though! I think high waisted with a heel is the way forward for boot cuts.

norfolkskies · 25/09/2019 20:17

thank god for that. I have always hated skinnies! feeling like Ive been poured into jeans yuk! must admit ive wearing these forever and straight ones. going into dp`s was awful, nothing but skinny.

eeksville · 25/09/2019 20:20

I saw this photo & thought she looked great, although I think they are more of a flare (which she is quite partial to) than a bootcut.

KM's job is to look fantastic in clothes. If your body is the same shape, then you will also look amazing. At 63, I don't, but I didn't at 23, 33, or 43!

XingMing · 25/09/2019 20:58

Not because I wasn't fairly slim, fit and toned, but because I am not (physically/body shape) an ectomorph body shape; I am a mesomorph, and grateful not to be an endomorph.

Apologies for double post!

Deffo more a skinny flare than a bootcut. I never stopped wearing a great pair of Current/Elliot flares I got years ago though.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/09/2019 21:11

I never really embraced skinnies, had a few pairs but I didn't really feel them, always preferred straight or flares. I'm not sure the 90's style boot-cuts will be back, I always thought the proportions were a bit off.

Ohyesiam · 25/09/2019 21:13

Is that Kate moss? I thought it was ginger spiceBlush

StrangersToLove · 25/09/2019 21:17

Bootcut and winter don't mix. I remember the last time.

hammeringinmyhead · 25/09/2019 23:34

Those are definitely flares and it's an outfit that's identical to Victoria Beckham's wardrobe c.2008.

This is bootcut - I just can't see past the era when people were wearing them too short, flapping around the top of their mid-heel black ankle boots.

You have always been able to buy bootcut jeans, it's not as if they were locked away or you were arrested for wearing them. How many people have actually worn out their jeans? They are a tough item of clothing, so it is essential that fashions in them change or the manufacturers won't make much money out of us.

Yes, I think this is why I'm so anti bootcut & 90s stylec mid heel ankle boots.

I prefer flat boots & I think most of them look better with a skinny/straight jean as it's nice to see the boot as opposed to hiding it.

DarkMutterings · 25/09/2019 23:54

Another one who has a pair of Gap long & lean - they are truly flattering, I prefer them in the summer with wedges than skinnies which are just too hot. Looks like a great excuse for boot shopping ...

hammeringinmyhead · 26/09/2019 06:44

I wear out my jeans all the time! They rub together at the thighs - I've been size 8-14 and they have always done this.

Aurignacian · 26/09/2019 07:10

I wear out my jeans too, the knees always go. Not sure why?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 26/09/2019 10:02

My jeans always go at the knee too, even with premium denim.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 26/09/2019 10:26

Hooo bloody raw!!!!!! Bootcut are finally making a resurgence

MontanaSkies · 26/09/2019 10:54

The problem with '90s style bootcuts, for me, is the low-slung waist that came with them! (Remember the derision of people in high waisted jeans?! Grin) I don't like displaying that bit of podge over the top of the waistband, and I also don't like feeling cold.

Hooray for a challenge to the skinnies though. If the bootcut waistband is a bit higher this time I'll be trying them out.

Pollydocket · 26/09/2019 11:21

I have a pair of diesel flares, god they are flattering!

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 26/09/2019 15:33

Definitely higher waisted this time around....
