I have this one for the latin round - which is perfect

I need something similar but ankle length for ballroom

Any suggestions (must be able to wear a decent bra underneath)

long and full are hard to find these days

purple one here?

will keep looking

MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 18:49

guess this kind of thing...

MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 18:52

I seem to remember (hazily) that the girls who did competitions wore this kind of thing...

Katymac · 11/08/2007 18:55

The second one is nice - but I think the material would be hard to dance in.

The 3rd one is a definate none starter - I am a social dancer not a competitor

ah right, and yes, you want swishy chiffon rather than stiff taffeta

[continues search]

Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:01

The first is a 2 piece and I worry if there might be a gap (though it is very pretty)

I ahve one I could lend but its calf length rather than ankle sadly (no use to me whilst PG LOL)

Same shape as the debenhams one, but in a pretty greeny colour (Monsoon green) with a bronzey taffeta overlay (size 12 - 14)

if ica n help just holler

Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:05

Might be a bit small

Sounds lovely tho' I love that sort of colour (very kind of you to offer)

MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 19:07

have you checked out bridesmaid dresses?
this kind of thing looks hopeful

similar on ebay - shame about the straps...

Peachy · 11/08/2007 19:08

Bit too big surely, notice the one you got was a 10!

Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:12

No sorry I didn't buy that one......it was just the picture I am a generous 14 sometimes 16

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 19:12

good length -not sure re the 'custom made in China' bit...

Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:12

That first one is nice - I can't see a price?

OP posts:
Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:14

That one is very short?

(did you see the descriptions of the colours)

OP posts:
Peachy · 11/08/2007 19:17

pretty much like it, if not identical 9is as afr as I can see) 14 on the label so if monsoon 14 fits feel free (has straps though, a shrug or similar would do- I wore a very supportice strapless corset thing underneath)

Would suggesta trip to Monsoon, they ahve far mroe of this thing insture than on their website)

MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 19:19

Katymac - never mind the descriptions of the colours - scroll down further to the descriptions/diagrams of the measurements. eg, 'The nipple arrives nipple' and 'The front length shoulder arrives loins'. Someone has used an online translater to devastating effect.

MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 19:21

where did my links go?
bet the dollar sign screwed them up

$ 139
$ 170
$ 132

MrsBadger · 11/08/2007 19:21

shorter means they can see your footwork, which is a Good Thing

Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:22

I know ...but I just loved "The long spring spends a plant" which is cornflower blue I guess

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 11/08/2007 19:23

Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:23

Seeing my foot work is a very very bad thing

You haven't seen it....so you don't know

I have been told about 2 inchs above my ankle bone

OP posts:
Katymac · 11/08/2007 19:32
