I have news for teenagers - skinny jeans have been around for longer than they have. Even as Iong as their ancient mums 😲

Also OP, I recently got some £13 black jeans from Primark. High waist shaper they're called. They were £13.99 and better by far for fixing that overhang than any of the other jeans I tried that day. Even the ones a hundred quid more. I actually bought them in desperation, because I had only 1 pair of trousers that fit and I was determined to go home with something! They're actually amazing though; they look like I've got spanx on underneath and have washed and worn very well over the past month.

When I’m supreme commander of the universe, I’m banning the phrase ‘mutton dressed as lamb’. Go forth, OP, in whatever the hell pleases you and enjoy.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/09/2019 17:48

I’ll add it to my list (for I shall be High Commander before you).

LookingForward2020 · 22/09/2019 17:49

You look great! Skinny jeans have no age limit.

RickOShay · 22/09/2019 17:50

That’s exactly what I wear Grin
I too have a teenage dd, but I don’t listen to her as she has dodgy eyebrows.
I’m 51.

RickOShay · 22/09/2019 17:50

I love black.

Tighnabruaich · 22/09/2019 17:54

65 here, and wear black skinnies, black tops and black biker boots. I care not a jot what others think. Get the sunnies on, and a scarlet lipstick and I'm good to go.

81Byerley · 22/09/2019 18:02

Looks like my jeans I'm wearing today. I'm 70.

BishopFrownofStThigh · 22/09/2019 18:17

Actually when I was approaching 35 I fretted a little as I thought I couldn't wear dresses a couple of inches above the knee anymore. As it turns out I didn't give a hoot!

greenlavender · 22/09/2019 18:20

You look great!

Redcrayons · 22/09/2019 18:23

I was expecting some kind of sequined slashed to the navel playsuit.

Black skinny jeans and a baggy black top is perfectly normal.

Are skinny jeans a bit a passé with the young uns these days.

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/09/2019 18:24

I'd wear it and I'm older than you.

LucieFurr · 22/09/2019 18:26

You look fab

DoctorMarten · 22/09/2019 18:27

Mutton my arse. Please wear whatever you feel good in. I’m 50 and wear mini skirts, skinnies and frankly DGAF what people think.

Lyingonthesofainthedark · 22/09/2019 18:30

Absolutely yes.

Bobthefishermanswife · 22/09/2019 18:33

My mum's 50 next year, I'll be 30 and we borrow each others clothes... I don't see the problem with this outfit at all.

MargotLovedTom1 · 22/09/2019 18:34

Where are your boots from please? Grin And you look fine.

EL8888 · 22/09/2019 18:34

Go for it! Looking good

Newbie1981 · 22/09/2019 18:39

God yes! You look amazing for nearly 50! You go for it love

LizzieMacQueen · 22/09/2019 18:51

Baby overhang. I use that excuse too - youngest is 16 though ☺️

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 22/09/2019 18:52

Mines a chocolate n red wine gut.

houselikeashed · 22/09/2019 20:08

Hi everyone, thanks for all the comments. I'm going through a huge confidence crisis at the moment so it's nice to hear positive comments.
The boots are from Primark, fairly new so they should still be in the shops. I put an insole in them as they were quite hard on the sole inside.
sorry if I upset people with my comment - I posted v quickly without thinking.

I'm just about to start part 3 of my life - time to be happy again I hope.
