Help with outfit for brother in law's wedding

Husband's brother is getting married early in Feb. I'm aware the shops are soon going to be full of sparkly Christmas things so decided to go dress shopping last weekend.

I liked the attached dress from Wallis, but they didn't have my size so have ordered it online to try on. Assuming it fits, what colour shoes/bag should I go for?

I'm usually a v, v casual dresser. Jeans, jumper, converse. I'm 28, a size 14 with a bit of a wobbly tummy since having a baby a couple of years ago, and 5'3". For summer weddings, when I'm a guest that's not important, I usually go for a floral tea dress, cardi and flats, but I think I'm going to be required to be a bit more polished here. I don't often wear heels but the ones I get along best with have chunky heels/ wedges and more coverage over the foot - I guess shoe booty type things?

I don't like being in photos very much and am not hugely confident in my appearance but husband and son are both groomsmen so I think I'm going to be in a lot of the pictures and would love to be able to have some nice pictures of us all looking smart but mostly I just want to get through to day without feeling embarrassed/uncomfortable.

Sorry that's gone a bit more in depth than I meant it to. In summary- please help me look decent and well put together for a wedding - thanks!

It's a pretty dress, but a lot of people would advise you to steer clear of black for a wedding, as black is the colour of mourning so not seen as appropriate.

I love the cut of the dress but the colour makes it look like you’re going to a funeral not a wedding. Did they sell it in other colours? Even if it’s a dark / navy blue

This dress is gorgeous and will be a very flattering fit. I'm not sure about black for a wedding (but this dress comes in purple too). Think this would be perfect for a wedding in February.

I like the dress but not the colour for a wedding.

It's actually a plum colour - sorry, didn't realise it looked so dark in the photo

I love it

It's lovely and clearly not black. Wear flats or a very small heel, no point being uncomfortable. There'll be loads of dressy ankle boots about. Bag, jacket, cardi whatever accessories maybe in a brighter berry colour.
