For the past two days, I have been wearing my Mary Jane style black Crocs.

They look, well perhaps 'nice' is too strong but they certainly don't look too bad at all when you consider how comfortable and practical they are.

I'm really liking hte Mary Janes ones more than the Cayman ones, which have been consigned to house only duty.

They're a much slimmer profile and dead comfy.

DD1 is practically living in hers this summer - she has Caymans and Mary Janes ones (thanks, Mama! I know how hard it was for you to buy these because you think they look awful!).

I asked for them, purple. I never bought them. They're a rip off here .

But for a while I went off them.

DD1 has trouble dressing herself, so she loves her Crocs because she can slip them on and off her feet.

I don't fancy the Mary-Janes at all, but I found myself looking at these recently and wondering if they wouldn't be too bad, especially in chocolate.

And I agree, I could only ever wear MJ, they look much more petite on your feet!

I love how Mama looks at me with those pursed lips whenever I have them on.

And her French tactic of complimenting shoes she finds more appropriate. 'Oh, EIS, I really like those sandals/heels/etc. on you. They set off that skirt well/make your legs look longer, etc.'

I know her game .

They're also great for summer because they're cool and comfortable without having to expose your toes if you're due a pedicure.

As we're confessing, I have a pair of these in celery/white which I like but I find the white a little too white. And a pair of these in butter, which I hate and never wear. I don't know what possessed me to buy that colour, it doesn't go with anything I own.

You don't have that celery/white pair now? Not for real, right? Surely that's a wind up!

I quite like the style of the butter ones, though!

I'm in love with the camouflage Mary Janes for DD1, though! In pink, of course. MUST HAVE THEM FOR HER!

Yes, really. They are very comfortable, but perhaps a little too high for me, they're about 2 inches. Do you think they're horribly ugly?

They look dinkier on than they do in the picture. They are a bit like a crocs version of wedge-espadrilles.

A little, they give a bit when you step onto them but they don't spring you back up again, which I think would be a bit de-stabilising.
