Dresses with pockets...

Nearly bought a couple of lovely dresses from TK Maxx today until I remembered that I wasn't buying anymore dresses unless they had pockets!!

Anyone bought any good ones this season yet???

I'm a pretty flat chested size 10 with good legs Smilebut a diastasis is nothing too bodycon / flat around the tummy area

Happy to spend up to £100 for a really good quality one and trying to avoid black / grey / brown unless there's a nice colourful print on it..

I'd be very grateful for any pointers!

@NoNeedToArgue I also hate polyester but I've been wearing Popsy throughout the summer (even the very hottest days) with no problems, no discomfort, not even whilst growing a baby! I’m honestly surprised, but it's true Smile

(Promise I’m not paid to advertise them!)

Why do people get excited about pockets in dresses? It’s something I’ve never understood.

BelindasGleeTeam · 12/09/2019 19:44

I'm a teacher. I need consequence cards, a pen, lanyard with keys (it's not always round my neck) and often a radio on me as I wander round a big secondary site. Trousers with pockets are fine to take a couple of smaller items but skirts and dresses....nope. I've spent years in just trousers for practicality.

Pockets in dresses have been a revelation.

Big Popsy fan here too!

sparkles07 · 12/09/2019 19:58

Popsy quality is very good. I've had three from there in last three months and love them, they wash well and are really flattering.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 12/09/2019 20:07

I just like having somewhere to put my hands. 🤷 There are pockets in most items of clothing, yet dresses it is unusual.

Miseryisabutterfly · 12/09/2019 20:08

I understand that but I don’t tend to put my hands in my pockets. Just my phone in my back pocket really.

The school scenario makes sense!

I bought 4 of the same dress this year from M & S in different colours/patterns.. Linen shift, v neck, short sleeves, big patch pockets, knee length. Great with leggings. About £30 each.
Don't know what I wore before I got them.

BikeRunSki · 12/09/2019 20:29

Pockets - smart casual office.
I like to have my personal phone discretely on me. The only time i’ve ever missed a call from school it was when DS was ill and needed to come home.

Boden has loads of dresses with pockets!

blonderunner · 12/09/2019 23:57

Check out Mela belted dresses. Have pockets and are very flattering.

To put things in. Including hands. I LOVE POCKETS!!!

Seen a meme once.. welcome to Women's Clothing where the sizes dont make sense & there are no pockets because fuck you.
And someone had commented "It's so they can sell us bags"

Squiz81 · 13/09/2019 09:36

I got a lovely dress from Thought which has pockets and also from Uniqlo. I love a pocket!

ellejay33 · 13/09/2019 10:08

Just recommending Popsy again! Some of the prints are not for me but the animal print ones and the plain ones make for some great 'chuck on' dresses. Very comfortable too.

Rosere · 13/09/2019 21:50

Love a pocket. Fave part of my wedding dress 😊 Ive never heard of popsy. I like the look of them. Are they stretchy? Could I lift my arms up?
Random I know, but some dresses with sleeves are so restrictive. The Rosie floral one looks lovely 😍

BelindasGleeTeam · 13/09/2019 21:52

They're nice and stretchy. So comfy. I have to restrict my purchasing though 🙈

Lalallama · 13/09/2019 22:07

I've not heard of Popsy either but some of their dresses look lovely. What are the lengths like? I'm 5'8" and often find knee or just above knee length dresses feel too short on me.

Shockers · 14/09/2019 08:58

Masai dresses have pockets and are really flatteringly cut, although they look shapeless on the hanger. I’m really short and I wear their longer tunics as dresses too.

carrie74 · 14/09/2019 16:06

Cos good for pockets and quality.

Zara has some lovelies in at the moment. I've just bought this (and judging by my visit last weekend, so have half of London!): www.zara.com/uk/en/long-printed-dress-p03198242.html?v1=20522731&v2=1281554

It comes in green too.
