GHD straighteners - worth the money?

My trusty old hair straighteners have died. What would you recommend as a replacement? I’ve got fine shoulder length hair that’s moderately wavg.

GHD's arent all they are cracked up to be, I had 2 sets, they ruined my hair. I now have Glamoriser ones, they have a temperature control, the plates are smoother & only cost £50.

I switched to Cloud 9 after my old GHDs died (due to the negative online reviews of the new GHDs). Cloud 9 are just as good, and still going strong after five years of daily use, outliving my GHDs. So I'll definitely stick with them in future, whether or not the stuff about the new GHDs is true or not.
