Smart work shoes for people who have wide feet and can't walk in heels

BeBraveAndBeKind · 04/09/2019 21:41

Has anyone got any recommendations for smart work shoes? I have wide feet and am a liability in heels (unless there's a strap or laces on the front).

I have several pairs of brogues but am looking for something a bit heel-ish for this autumn/winter.

A tad expensive but Gabor work for my wide feet 'H' - though even they have a low supply of H width fittings so have had to go for 'G' sometimes.

Vionic do really comfy heels in a wide fit.

cruellaisback · 04/09/2019 22:12

Have you looked at Mary Jane shoes with a heel?

BeBraveAndBeKind · 04/09/2019 22:23

Thanks @tava63 and @teta. I've never heard of either of those brands so I'll take a good look tomorrow. I don't mind paying for a pair that will last. I really hate shoe shopping because I'm so used to trying them on and them not fitting width wise.

@cruella - Yes, I used to have a really nice pair of Mary Jane's with a block heel from Clarks and wore them to death. I haven't really seen any since that I like but am keeping an eye out.

Have you tried Hotter shoes? Might be a bit 'old' for you but they are wide and comfortable.
I like these

Ooooh I do those Hotter ones!

CMOTDibbler · 05/09/2019 08:27

I have been converted to the joy of Peter Kaiser shoes - I have a couple of pairs where they have a clever elastic detail which holds them onto your feet

Deathraystare · 05/09/2019 14:04

I mean I do like Hotter shoes!

JoJoSM2 · 05/09/2019 14:09

FitFlops might have something. I've got ballet flats and they're very very wide even on my wide feet.

inwood · 05/09/2019 14:13

Clark's brogues.

BeBraveAndBeKind · 05/09/2019 20:36

Thanks all. I love the sound of elastic that holds them on!

How wide are your feet?

EE from Clarks wide?

BeBraveAndBeKind · 05/09/2019 22:09

Yes, Clarks wide fitting.

M&S. much prefer to Clarks for my square trotters

Ponks · 05/09/2019 23:12

Another vote for Peter Kaiser here!

Fly London boots are great for my wide feet Smile

I think there are some brands on QVC who do wide fit shoes and you can try them for a month out and about and really test drive them. The only thing you lose is the return postage costs. You get the rest of your money refunded. You are expected to take them at their word and try them out. That would give you the chance to try them and see how you get on. Their site is QVC.UK I think. They are on TV too. Channel 660 on sky.
