Help needed!
I tried on this dress and can't get it out my mind. I need a different size and I'm really after a different colour, teal or peacock maybe. No idea how realistic that is but wise MNers... Can any of you help?
Excuse the boobs. This is a size 10, I'm a squidgy 14 with K cups Blush

It’s very pretty. You’re not planning to wear it soon though (the tan line is 😉)?

TryingToBeBold · 04/09/2019 17:35

Do you know the name of the shop you tried it on in?

Owlsintowels · 04/09/2019 17:36

I really should have said in both title and body of message this is for my wedding!
No idea if it'll be decent in my size, but I want to find it and give it a go. I don't think a size 14 40 yr old would look good in this in white...

And yes tan lines, very good point. Thankfully wedding is in 2 yrs...

Thanks managed!! I don't have a huge amount of body confidence so that has made me smile ☺

You could get one made by a dressmaker so it would be just what you wanted.

Haworthia · 04/09/2019 17:39

Can’t you contact the bridal shop and ask?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 04/09/2019 17:40

What was the dress hanging up like on?

TryingToBeBold · 04/09/2019 17:42

Just nip back to the local bridal shop and take a peek at the brand name.
Either that or see if they have a Facebook page. A lot of local ones do and will advertise on there or a website.

Owlsintowels · 04/09/2019 17:47

Hanging up dress, with horrible back view too! Nice ish but not really me and not very flattering IMO.
I really want a non wedding dress I can wear again, this was my first foray into trying things on

I feel really cheeky / rude going back if I'm not going to buy from them. Is it ok to? They wrote a name down for me, Odette, but I can't find it online so I assumed it was their own local name

Wauden I didn't think a local dressmaker would be able to do the beadwork, do you think they could?
Also tbh if I'm spending that much on a dress I want to be able to try it on and be sure it'll look nice. I'd be so upset if after all the work and cost of a bespoke dress I didn't like it

First dress style is definitely more “you”, OP. I’d call the bridal shop and ask them what brand it was, then you’re not feeling guilty about taking up another appointment.

If you can find out what material it is, you may be able to speak to someone about whether it would be able to be dyed the colour you want?

Howareya123 · 04/09/2019 17:55

I just googled odette wedding dress and all the search finds were Maggie sottero.. not sure if that's helpful. I would ask them all the info you need though, I'm sure you could get it dyed if you had to buy the white!

TryingToBeBold · 04/09/2019 17:59

I'd have no problem asking, if it's what you want then go for it

ShirleyPhallus · 04/09/2019 18:02

Second dress does nothing for you but first dress is 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

I have nothing to add but second the “great boobs” comment!!

PollyRoe16 · 04/09/2019 18:26

Do the bridal shop have a website? They'll usually list the designers they stock which might help narrow the search.
Don't feel bad about just ringing and asking them though!

FenellaMaxwell · 05/09/2019 10:48

Where are you based OP? I think the answer would be to go and see a dressmaker and get it made if you’d prefer a different colour. They could also help you with something similar but less revealing and a bit more secure maybe? Have a look at Joanne Fleming and Wilden Bride
