Slim fit ankle boots (Chelsea boots) they don't fit like wellies!

I really want some flattish/low heel ankle boots this year to wear with dresses. But I find that they tend to gape on my legs and look like mini wellies (maybe because I have quite big feet, size 7?)
Has anyone seen any that fit neatly to the leg?
I used to like the boots with a v at the front (think ash did some) but can't find any like that without too much of a heel.
Help!

Sorry nothing helpful to add but watching this as I am looking for similar. I also have size 7 feet plus skinny legs which doesn't help!

baublegirl454 · 31/08/2019 08:40

It's a pain isn't it? I wouldn't say I have skinny legs, but maybe slim ankles? I have some lovely Boden ones but they have quite high heels so no use for walking all day

& other stories have great ones.

Wellthatsit · 31/08/2019 08:47

Gabor do quite a few different styles that might meet your criteria of low heel and slim ankle. I have some lovely navy suede ones that I wear with dresses to work. They are comfortable too.

There are some nice Ash boots on the Brand Boudoir website. I know what you mean by the style that's cut a little lower at the front - the 'Heidi' style looks a bit similar?

baublegirl454 · 31/08/2019 09:05

@Boilingfrog I love those! Need to find a store to try on

Liking some of those Gabor boots - does anyone know whether Gabor fit big/small...?
The & other stories ones are stunning.

poochiemaloochie · 31/08/2019 09:14

I just got a black pair from Sainsbury's £40 leather and slim fitting around the ankle super comfy too 😃

baublegirl454 · 31/08/2019 09:16

Thanks @Wellthatsit will check those out 👍🏻

@poochiemaloochie I bought those! In the navy, but they looked awful on me ☹️

Duo boots come in slim fits. Pricey but they do last for years. I think the company changed names so you may have to Google.

Following!

I’ve been looking for something similar and found some lovely Jigsaw ones massively reduced (but not available in your size 😕). I found the best thing to google is “western ankle boots” and then you get more hits with the from dip... like these: www.clarks.co.uk/c/Mila-Myth/p/26146246?CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=58677783286&CATCI=aud-385824054685:pla-293946777986&cm_mmc=PPC_SHOP_google--G_UK_PS_dA_G_SHOP_CSS_Womens_Boots_FullPrice--G_UK_PS_dA_G_SHOP_Womens_Boots_FullPrice-_-na&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4YbQstas5AIViud3Ch38vwEPEAQYASABEgIWa_D_BwE

They fit true to size, maybe run slightly small as so neat all over and I ended up wearing them every day. I used to be a 6/6.5 (until kids, feet have ‘stretched’) and bought a 7 I think (40).

TheFlis12345 · 31/08/2019 10:37

I have size 8 feet and that definitely means the tops are wider. Best I ever found for ankle fit was M&S a couple of years ago. Hoping they get them back this year as I could do with another pair.

GreenFlamingo11 · 31/08/2019 10:44

Carvela/Kurt Geiger do slim flat ankle boots. I've had a pair for 4 years and they're still in great condition. I did have to get the heels resoled though.

Wellthatsit · 31/08/2019 11:30

Cambione, the Gabor are true to size. I have a freakishly long 4th toe which makes pointy toes tricky sometimes for me, but despite this I can wear my normal size in Gabor.

Cambionome · 31/08/2019 14:17

Thank you, wellthatsit.

RuggyPeg · 31/08/2019 19:57

I bought some Gabor boots today and found them big. I bought a half size smaller but fit in a full size smaller.

jcurve · 01/09/2019 11:15

They are really hard to find especially if you are a larger foot size - I’m also a 7. There’s a few brands mentioned which aren’t narrow enough for me like & Other Stories.

Last year I bought lace up Chelsea boots (with a side zip) from Jones the Bootmaker which worked out well. If you happen to be holidaying in Italy, their boots tend to be much narrower.

I’ve had this problem too. I’ve bought these: www.laredoute.co.uk/ppdp/prod-350131446.aspx?dim1=1#shoppingtool=lastviewedproducts_ordertracingall

They’ve not arrived yet so hoping they will look as elegant as I am expecting them to.

Thanks everyone, some great suggestions. Will be interested in how the LaRedout ones work out
