L'heure Bleue, where have you been all my life?!

I have just discovered this wonderful scent by guerlain. I have the edp. It's just beautiful, I can't really describe it, sort of powdery floral. It smells kind of wistful / longing in as much as anything can smell that way.

If you want something different it's worth checking out.

Oh, on a totally different side note, I found an AMAZING dupe if Angel in Home Bargains the other day for ............99p! (I know Angel is a bit love or hate..)

Gorgeous, isn't it? I've wore it for almost 20 years.

Coffeshopgirl · 30/08/2019 20:28

Sounds lovely. I have discovered the Elvive flowers conditioner that I think perhaps smells similar? Reminds me of my grandmothers talc in one of those pink lidded pots with a lovely powder puff.

queenofarles · 30/08/2019 21:21

I think it was known as Sex in a bottle , or maybe it was Shalimar ,Hmm i used to love it but find it too strong nowadays,
interesting Fact , some ingredients are illegal nowadays , so it must have smelled bit different back then .

MissBattleaxe · 30/08/2019 21:25

if you like L'heure bleu you might like Mitsouko too. They have changed a bit since the original formulation but still brilliant and much admired.

Deathraystare · 02/09/2019 09:46

I love it to but Mitsouko is the one! Haven't been able to afford that for years!

doginthemanger · 02/09/2019 10:52

I was given some years ago and loved it but it was too strong for me to wear.
instead I put a dab on my pillow every night and slept really well!

MissBattleaxe · 02/09/2019 14:27

@doginthemanger that sounds so chic and lovely!

Mitsouko is one I've come round to slowly, but I found some Mitsouko soaps on Amazon and fell head over heels. I put them in my knicker drawer a I'm afraid to use them.

Haffiana · 02/09/2019 20:31

You may also like Apres l'Ondee, which imo is the ultimate in the quiet, wistful and contemplative scent category, and also stunningly beautiful. They both share that classic Guerlain heart.

MummyLikesCrisps · 02/09/2019 20:39

I've just ordered some Guerlain dupes from the perfume parlour. They were so cheap!! Fingers crossed they are good

Sneezewitch · 02/09/2019 20:41

See this is one of those things that makes me feel like an uncultured hick. I just don't get those old-school Guerlains. I try about once a year. Maybe it's time...

AnnaMagnani · 02/09/2019 21:16

Apres l'Ondee is the one for me. No beating those lovely Guerlains.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 03/09/2019 21:26

Ahhhhh, L'Heure Bleue, so lovely. So grown up, so quietly beautiful. It really is divine.

It makes me feel as if I should be wearing a cream silk negligee and reclining, slightly melancholy, on a chaise longue...sadly I'm usually on the sofa in yoga pants and a cat-haired-covered bobbly jumper.

I love Mitsouko too. In terms of beautiful classics, Guerlain really is hard to beat.

31RueCambon75001 · 03/09/2019 21:28

I agree, it's lovely. It's so expensive.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 03/09/2019 21:32

Allbeauty.com almost always has good deals on Guerlain frags. Well worth a look.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 03/09/2019 21:45

Mitsouko is my very guilty pleasure it's just the most amazing perfume. I will try the one you have found OP I need another perfume to love

managedmis · 04/09/2019 01:56

Ooh, great, I'll check this out tomorrow in the perfume shop
