Talk to me about ginger/auburn hair dye...

I need to dye my hair a natural colour for my job, and so I'm thinking of going redhead for more fun. It needs to be a 'human' red rather than the (gorgeous Sad) pillarbox types on offer.

Can you recommend some box dyes, with images of the real result if you would care to share?

Thank yoooou!

I use nice n easy golden auburn. It's a lovely natural colour. Have used it for years and still get compliments!

I use Nice and Easy Natural Chestnut Brown. It's a bit darker than you may want, but is lovely and natural looking.

Have you looked at henna? I use Lush Caca Rouge and it gives my mind brown hair copper tones. I often get compliments on the colour from strangers!

Should say it’s permanent!

When I was a redhead (I’m a natural one & often switch between brown & my natural colour) the dye nearest to my natural colour was L’Oréal Feria Mango intense copper, I got lots of compliments on that colour.

And it goes without saying, results depends on what colour your hair is to start with, when I used this dye my hair was just a light warmish brown so it didn’t turn out as vivid on the box, just a nice looking natural auburn.

Thank you, all! I've gone with Nice n Easy as it had a shade that will (hopefully) go with my skin tone!
