Been given a £50 Boots No7 voucher -what to buy?

I have to be really careful with skin care as I have rosacea, and I already use their anti redness serum and primer, so I am thinking make up.

I am almost 50, dark brown hair with chestnut/gold tones to it and not much grey.

Freckled face and rosy cheeks ( thanks rosacea) -blue/green/grey eyes.

I'm ok for foundation and I come out at a "cool beige" on their colour match. Do I need powder or will it be ageing?

I wondered if anyone had any favourite items they would recommend - I will have a nosey at the counter in town but was wondering if I should branch out with blushers/highlighters etc - I tend to either use a standard powder blusher in their Damson or bronzing pearls.

Their Stay Perfect mascara is really good. Doesn't smudge or run but comes off easily with warm water.

Thank you I do need mascara as I have just checked and I think I am using the same one I bought 2 years ago Blush

Yes I like their mascara too, it was the only one I used. I think it was called perfect lashes? Or it might have been stay perfect...

I’d buy an eyeshadow quad, a blush or bronzer, and a perfect lipstick (they do that lipstick match thing where they find your perfect shade).

Hi OP, does it have to be no 7 products?

It's just preference, but I'd look for a mineral foundation as they tend to be skin-kind.

If you wear nail varnish, their clear top coat is fantastic, put it on straight after painting, don't wait for it to dry ,and it dries rock solid in seconds. It's incredible stuff.

Their mascaras are great.

I got on ok with their Hydraluminous skin care range,I have the same skin type as you and need to be very careful.

They do some nice lippies too that are a cross between a lippie and a balm.

Eye liners are nice too.

Are your eyebrows thinning or getting grey? If so, No 7 make a nice eyebrow powder kit which comes with two powders, a gel and a highlighter. You’d need to buy an angled brush to make it easier to put on. I can also recommend the eyeshadow compacts with three colours as they seem to stay put and the colours are quite soft.

Probably no good with your rosacea but their airbrush primer and foundation are very nice. The foundation is like the intelligent foundation (in 3 forgiving shades) which I thought they didn't do anymore but it seems they do??

I do like their mascaras - the waterproof volume one is a firm favourite.

By the way - noting to do with Boots - actually Superdrug!- but I went in this morning -answered a few questions about the Loreal make up stand and got a fiver (I then got a 'free' Sally Hansen nail polish which was down to £4.99!! Bargain!!)

LoafofSellotape · 09/08/2019 12:43

Actually I'm ok with the airbrush primer, odd smell but works ok with sensitive skin.

Deathraystare · 09/08/2019 13:07

That's good then loaf.

I had an interview with them (didn't get the job) but had to find people to put the primer and foundation onto. Never will I moan at all the "Can I help you's" in the store. I was supposed to get 12 people to do this to! I got one who then buggered off before the sale!!

beenrumbled · 09/08/2019 15:19

Yes, it is for No7 only!

I will have a look at the eye shadows and eyebrow kits too.

And I will have a look at that skin care range after all; thank you!
