Where could I buy flattering swimwear on the high street tomorrow?

Please help me. I’ve booked a really special spa day for DH’s 40th on Friday and I will have to wear swimwear. I ordered some online and was too scared to try it on and now I have to feel hideous.

We’ve got an hour in a mud room then a treatment, then time in the facilities. I guess I have to wear a bikini in the mud room and then a swimming costume later so I don’t terrify people.

I feel absolutely hideous - I had twins nearly three years ago and my body is a mess. I don’t want my hatred of my body to ruin the day. I just want to feel comfortable.

We have a small high st nearby - any idea where I could go quickly tomorrow to get something? Seen anything for larger chests (34F or FF - I bought fuller bust ones from ASOS and my boobs are crushed) / giant wobbly stomachs / fat thighs?

Help!

Proper underwear shops are good! Anything independent like that near you?

Russell19 · 06/08/2019 19:51

You could get a short or long sarong to tie around when not in the pool or sauna. They normally have pegs to hang up or sunbeds beside the pool.

Do you have a bravissimo nearby? Failing that, M&S might be worth looking at?

Namechangeforagamechange · 06/08/2019 19:53

Not sure if you can get them in store, but next have some of the most flattering swimsuits I've ever come across and if you order before midnight you'll get next day delivery. I'm a porky size 18 with huge boobs, and my swimming costume actually makes me look pretty good!

Samb79 · 06/08/2019 19:53

Asda are pretty good for larger boobs and tummy flatterers - I’ve got 10 year old twins and my body is also wrecked so I feel your pain!

HappyHammy · 06/08/2019 19:54

Sainsbury tesco primark

championquartz · 06/08/2019 19:58

Next can be good for cup sized bikinis

wonkylegs · 06/08/2019 19:58

My most flattering swimsuit is from Tesco

SinkGirl · 06/08/2019 21:41

Thanks all - will try M&S, next and sainsburys tomorrow as they’re all in the town centre. Fingers crossed.

I’ve always been really impressed with Joules Swimwear and they had lots on sale in my local one.... and I’ve never been that fussed with Matalan but this year their swim wear was great.

Fat face is pretty good. I’m a 32FF or 34F and I had two of their bikinis this summer, size 14 top, found them pretty supportive.

piefacedClique · 07/08/2019 08:39

Yes to fat face! I’ve had some great swimwear there x

I have an appalling body for swimsuits. None of them suit me. However, I managed to find something bearable in Decathlon the other week. Not high street as such, but maybe worth a look if you have one anywhere near you. They have loads, including separates that you can mix and match.

WellTidy · 07/08/2019 09:28

I find Asda surprisingly good for flattering swimwear. I buy ruched one piece swimming costumes to attempt to disguise my tummy, and I've had them from M&S, Next and Asda. The Asda one in black was a tenner and it has been brilliant.

This is a very flattering swimsuit. I have it and it fits really well. You can get next day delivery. Enjoy your spa day whatever you wear

SinkGirl · 07/08/2019 13:51

Mission failed - nowhere had much left, certainly nothing flattering. Bought I halterneck too I can wear with some shorts I already have which may or may not be better than the swimming costume I have. Will have to wear the awful bikini I have in the mud room but at least it’s private so only DH will see! Sigh. Diet time I guess 😥

Could you order some into your next or M&S store for tomorrow? Then go and try several on/return them there and then if they don't suit.
