Orthotics and summer shoes

I wear bespoke orthotics as I’m very flat footed with loose joints which has led to damage to my toe joints. If I don’t wear them, I get a lot of pain in my joints. I find summer shoes to be a real challenge as they need to accommodate my orthotics as well as give good support to my whole foot. I wear trainers as much as possible but they’re no good for work or in boiling weather! Any ideas?

I can't wear loafers because I find that the orthotic raises my heel so much that it lifts out of the shoe as I walk. It's often a problem even with lace-ups. (Perhaps this would not happen with a full orthotic that replaced the footbed?)

In summer I find I usually wear either canvas shoes that lace up quite high, like Dunlops, or Mary-Janes where I can adjust the buckle. Neither of which feel smart, let alone elegant!
