Do you have one?

Any good?

What one?

I've just got myself a Braun Silk Epile with my Boots points. It was about £39 I think.

Its ok. Just that really... ok. I did have to 'tidy up' a bit with tweezers when I noticed the odd hair sticking out in the bright sunlight.

And I did my armpits too... painful and very red afterwards, but a more successful job than my legs.

I have thought about getting one but I have heard they can be very painful. I am thinking about getting a laser hair removal system instead.

PregnantGrrrl · 02/08/2007 15:45

themoon66- is it better than shaving would you say?

NineUnlikelyTales · 02/08/2007 15:48

I have just one thing to say - ingrown hairs.

themoon- i bought that same epilator from the boots i work in and it was reduced to £5 and less with my staff discount card!

love my epilators, after you get used it feels really theraputic

themoon66 · 02/08/2007 16:35

Agree about it feeling therapeutic. It is not really that painful to be honest, just sort of 'twangy'.

Sidge · 02/08/2007 22:17

I agree with NineUnlikelyTales - great at first but after a few weeks of use you end up with loads of ingrowing hairs.

I got rid of mine months ago but I still have some red marks on my legs from old ingrown hairs that I had to remove

hotcrossbunny · 02/08/2007 22:32

Oh, I think i wouldn't get on with one having read this...
I am so fed up of itching like mad after I've shaved. Mum suggested shaving with the growth which helps with the itching but I can't get really close and my legs end up bristly (only way I can describe it!) I was considering an epilator but ingrown hairs are just horrid.
I did surrepticiously (sp?) use dhs electric shaver last year which was great but he began to complain about it getting blunt really quickly and I didn't dare confess... Maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and get a mens shaver - ladyshaves just don't seem as good

missbumpy · 04/08/2007 19:42

I've got the Silk Epil one too and it's not too bad. Can't imagine doing my armpits with it though themoon66! That sounds excruciating!
