I’ve had several years of being on a very tight budget but things are a little better now , it’s a long time since I’ve bought anything new just for me and I have been given a generous £200 for my birthday. I’d like a few items that feel special/good quality at reasonable prices as I’d like to feel I’ve had a splurge on a few treats.

Anybody bought anything recently either online or in a physical shop they want to share? Ideally I’d like a statement necklace, a bag and maybe a jacket but I’m open to ideas and want this money to go as far as possible.

championquartz that’s lovely, I also noticed the black blazer at sale price further down the page.

championquartz · 03/08/2019 21:06

That’s funny, the blazer doesn’t come up for me LuxuryWoman, but I did try on a black sale blazer and yes it was lovely but too big for me. Boo. I saw nothing in the dregs of the sale. Was hoping for a major sale-of-the-century bargain. Grin

I bought an Aspiga beaded pouch bag for 35 quid on Brand Alley recently, it's 110 quid on Aspiga's website. Also bought this dress for just over 30 quid down from 60 from Surfdome. Slowly building up my holiday wardrobe for January.

Have a look in TK Maxx for a bag.

championquartz · 03/08/2019 21:52

Nice blazer LuxuryWoman! And it’s wool. I didn’t see it. Some seasons Massimo have great basics. I’ll definitely make a trip to look again. Off to Pinterest that blazer.

I've never bought from Massimo, do they come up small?

MinesaPinot · 04/08/2019 18:07

I bought a lovely woven leather bag in Michael Kors yesterday. I know they are not usually liked on here because of the obvious branding but this is very different and apart from a very small nameplate you would not know that it is MK. It is beautifully finished, including the 'feet' on the base. It was £495 down to £198, and I got an extra 20% off because the additional shoulder strap was missing (it was the only one and there were no more available to order online). I was very pleased to say the least.

championquartz · 04/08/2019 21:19

@LuxuryWoman2018 I think Massimo are quite true to size, they might be a bit narrow-hipped but I am a bit wide-hipped so maybe they’re ok.

The shirt I linked is quite oversized. I’m a small 10 on top and bought an 8.

That's good to know Champion. What's up with the site today? So many duplicate threads.

I’ve had a lovely time shopping and it’s done me good, thanks for all the ideas. I found a jacket in John Lewis in the end, and by chance my shopping centre had a pop up market and I found some unusual accessories, I received my Exquisite bag which is very nice indeed and came with a grey and white scarf as a freebie so bonus. I have £40 left which I’ll keep towards winter boots. I think I’ve spent wisely!

Really nice you've got some nice bits, markets and actually charity shops as well as craft fairs can be a great place to find statement costume jewellery. I've had bags from exquisite, great value and it's nice to get the odd freebie isn't it. Hope you find some nice boots that's next on my list

LuxuryWoman2018 · 08/08/2019 07:39

I’m glad you were able to treat yourself, I’ve found some nice bits at pop up markets too although they don’t come round often in my area
