Got some money on my PayPal and looking to treat myself (budget upto £70). I like a wide variety of notes. Looking to explore these two brands further. I currently have small sizes of Le Jardin de Monsieur Li, Mitsouko and Sous Le Vent. Also, has anyone tried the Hermes Rhubarb fragrance?

I love Kelly Caleche. It’s soft with a slight leather note. I love that not many people wear it. Would highly recommend.

I love my Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic- the only thing I every wear. It’s fruity and fresh and light - and not too heady. It’s the only one I’ve found that I can wear no matter the occasion.

I still love Shalimar.

Mitsouko67 · 28/07/2019 20:11

I discovered Mitsouko in my late 20s and decided it expressed the inner me ie complex and alluring.Smile

Haven't had it since then though and I'm in my 50s now. Interested in l'heure blue or nahema.

I got a gift of the twilly soaps OMG they are divine! Don't rule out the soaps no matter what your age bracket.

fancynancyclancy I also love Terre d'Hermès and wear it regularly (and so does DH). My absolute Hermès favourite.

Samsara, years ago. Now, Mon Guerlain.

I've always liked Shalimar and L'heure Bleu and Jicky - why? Because they smell wonderful in the bottle and when on. I quite like Joy too, neither Guerlain nor Hermes but lovely.

Since scent depends on your own skin's response to it you'll know the one that suits you - what a nice thing to buy as a treat for yourself.

I use Guerlain’s Mitsouko and Shalimar a lot in autumn/winter together with Hermes L'Ambre des Merveilles. L’Heure Bleu is also lovely is you like something more floral.

Hermes Pamplemousse rose is wonderful in hot weather . Guerlain Nerolia Bianca can be worn all year around as can Champs Elysees. Champs Elysees is a fruity floral than smells of blossom in the summer and in cooler weather it smells of almonds. Guerlain Nahema is a wine coloured, rich, complex winter rose that's a real winter beauty.

The rhubarb Hermes is my regular day scent. It is subtle though

LaVieilleHarpie · 30/07/2019 13:01

Not keen on Hermes perfumes, but I love most Guerlains, especially Gourmand Coquin. The price is a bit of a killer, but there's nothing quite like it out there.

On summer days, Hermes Jardin sur le Nil is tough to beat. My favourite Guerlains are Jicky and Chamade.

I still love Samsara, especially the notes of sandalwood. I do use it quite sparingly though.
