Blue denim shorts on men

Is it just me or are they just wrong? DH came home with some today, he does need some new shorts but firstly he wore them with a blue t shirt which was awful, then with a light green top which wasn't any better. I'm wondering if they'll become acceptable with a blue or white top but my gut feeling is that I just don't like them. What do you think?

I've never really thought about it tbh. It doesn't bother me at all what DH wears, and likewise I certainly wouldn't be amused if he was fussed what I wore.
If he likes them and they're comfy, why not? Providing, of course, that they're not crotchless, or buttless or something

I live in a fairly hot place where shorts are common, so perhaps I'm just naturally pro shorts?

DH had a pair on honeymoon in Italy. Dark denim slim cut city shorts with a small turn up. Wore them with a pale blue cotton shirt or a white t-shirt. He looked fantastic.

My 5 year old has a pair of light blue denim knee length shorts and they look adorable on him with a bright coloured top.

But I think you’re right op, they would look weird on a grown man. Dark blue as a pp has said would be fine I think.

Dinosaurs He asked me what I thought of them as he wasn't sure. We are pro shorts too. I'm just not sure about light blue denim ones.

I agree with Zazie & Eminy, I think dark blue denim would be better than light denim.

My husband has a pair in acid wash type denim, I think they look fab. I occasionally pinch them (we're both about 29" waist, he's very slim for his height) but they're like bermuda shorts on me as I'm about 6" shorter than him.

Yep men wearing denim shorts to me is a no no for me.

Depends on the shorts. My husband has slim fit ones to just above his knees in a mid/dark denim and looks great in them.
