Is there some sort of ‘setting spray/hairspray’ that can be used on damp, curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair which looks good for about half the day and then gets wilder and wilder!! I tend to let it dry naturally with a mouse I love (doesn’t leave it ‘crunchy’) but as the weather gets to it it tends to then explode!!
So I was wondering if there’s a spray i can use while it’s still slightly damp that will then lock it in to not frizz/expand?!! It feels like there isn’t but maybe someone has found some miracle out there?!!

Cantu coconut oil spray is great for this.

I use leave it conditioner that was recommended on here

It’s the argen oil one in the orange bottle, lemme see if I can find

ShirleyPhallus · 11/07/2019 11:11

Oh it’s Cantu! Seconded then!

Oh exciting! Is that the shine and hold mist?

Trepadora products have changed my life! My hair looks good even on the 2nd and 3rd day. They’re only available online or from certain hairdressers but they’re worth the money. I use an açaí berry gel on very wet hair, half dry it with a diffuser and leave the rest to air dry. My curls are so healthy looking

Oh it isn’t cantu but similar, it’s great. My hairdresser commented that my hair has got in better condition since using it too:

I'll check which one I mean when I get home.

Thank you, think I’m just going to order the lot!! I hate that I love my hair for about 4 hours of the day and then it looks like I’ve been dragged through a hedge Grin

Put a curl creme on it when it's soaking wet . Put it in a microrfibre towel for 10/20 mins then leave as usual . It will be so different . Follow curly girl for products / shampoo .

You want a curl gel - Ecostyler, Cantu, Jessicurl, Boucleme, Trepadora, there are loads.

You put them on soaking wet hair, let the hair dry and then crunch them out. The curls will stay all day and quite possibly the next.

Search on a store selling curly hair products.

That’s weird Anna, years ago I used to use ultra strong hold gel, I’ve totally forgotten that!
I see Boots sells the Cantu stuff so I’ll pop in tomorrow. Thank you so much everyone, I have a lot to work with here!

I think curly hair products have come a long way in the last few years. I love that all the products I use are free from sulphates etc but my curls look better than ever

b0bb1n · 12/07/2019 08:51

I used to use a gel spray, sorry can't remember which but I imagine they'd all do the same job
