I am early fifties usually no make up with occasional use of a chubby stick on my lips and blusher on a pale day or if I have time.
I have freckles, wear glasses and always seem to have bags under my eyes please recommend me a light feeling not cakey tinted moisturiser for everyday?

Laura Mercier oil free, evens out skin tone but lets freckles show through. I also use LM Secret Concealer under my eyes, I had both colour matched in store. I've wasted so much money on cheaper products over the years, these are so much better.

I also love the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I used the oil free years ago and loved it, bought the ordinary one a few months ago and thought I didn’t like it but have been applying it differently (with hands first and then a damp sponge over the top to even it out) and i absolutely love it! Definitely a product for life.

Recently, I've had a nice result mixing a spot of Vita Liberata Body Blur ( can also be used on face) with my usual Liz Earle light moisturiser.

Another Nivea fan here! Been using it for years

Outlookmainlyfair · 12/07/2019 09:41

Tried Nars, Laura Mercier and Nivea now use beauty pie but Laura mercier isa close second. Or a mineral powder if I feel lazy and feel I need some makeup.

Lumene · 12/07/2019 16:58

Nars is good

Or mix Foundation with your moisturiser

Chronicallymothering · 12/07/2019 17:03

Chantecaille tinted moisturizer from Space NK is amazing stuff, light but good coverage, barely need any on, finish looks like normal skin and isn't cakey or blank, my last tube just ended after 3 years.

alidew · 12/07/2019 17:07

Another vote for NARS. I'm v fair and a lot of tinted moisturisers look weird, ie too pink or orange. This one is just right, doesn't go greasy even on a hot day and makes me look more awake. Late 40s here. The Space NK website has a "find your shade" feature if you haven't time for the shops and it got the match spot on for me x

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 12/07/2019 19:19

Bare Minerals. Nars is good but very yellow-toned. Don't rate LM at all.

DidgeDoolittle · 12/07/2019 21:09

Another vote for Bare Minerals complexion rescue. It's very light but makes everything look better.

DeRigueurMortis · 12/07/2019 21:16

Another vote for Charlotte Tilbury unisex healthy glow.

It's lightweight, doesn't cake and you have no worries about choosing the right shade (it's a white liquid that then adapts to your skin tone as you apply it). Lasts for ages as you only need "half a pea" sized amount.

You pretty much slap it on like moisturiser (well I do). It gives a glow rather than a sparkly sheen and somehow just evens my skintone out without looking overly "done".

I've spent £££ on tinted moisturiser including most of the brands referenced above.

This beats them all hands down. Bloody love it.

Pepperwand · 13/07/2019 13:58

Another vote for bare minerals complexion rescue. Tried it after seeing it recommended in the guardian after I had DS1 and wanted a minimal make-up routine. Wouldn't go back.

Pushpull · 13/07/2019 14:03

I've got the Avon one linked above. It's good but it is v light coverage.

I also like the garnier bb cream. It's often on offer in boots/superdrug and it gives a decent amount of coverage without feeling too thick. Its fool proof to apply but it doesnt have the biggest range of shades

FashionFoodLaughs · 13/07/2019 14:04

I second the Origins one in an orange tube. I have sensitive skin, roseaca and suffer from breakouts triggered by medication and hot weather. It feels lovely, smells lush and gives good coverage plus doesn’t aggravate my skin at all.

LagoDiComo · 13/07/2019 22:37

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue or Nars are my favourites but would say both make skin a little shiny

visitorthedog · 14/07/2019 05:41

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue here too. I’ve got the new stick version too which is nice for a little extra help too.

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/07/2019 06:16

Filorga Flash Nude from M & S. Not cheap but you need very little and it makes your skin look amazing.

madroid · 14/07/2019 06:21

Estee Lauder is very fine and very light.

OldJoseph · 14/07/2019 06:58

I mix foundation with my SPF to get a tinted moisturiser.

If you don't have any foundation lying around (I'm trying to use stuff up) Boots No7 sells foundation drops designed specially to add to moisturiser to get the coverage you want. They colour match you pretty well. I've not used the drops but they've been mentioned on here before.
