Would you wear a bikini if you were me?

I'm 5"5 and 10 stone 5. I've actually lost 9lbs but it's nowhere near where I'd hoped to be for our holiday in a few weeks. To make it worse I'm pale as can be and don't tan, and I have a huge cup size so finding swimwear that fits is awkward to say the least.

Took a long trip to Bravissimo today, hopeful to find a flattering bikini, it was a disaster. All of the colours made me look washed out (even the assistant agreed), the styles that fitted me well were all the wrong colours.

I tried on nearly everything in the shop and came away with a gorgeous tankini that to be fair looks really good, and a bikini that looks shit. I spent £150 Sad

I'm thinking am I just kidding myself having a bikini and to just stick to tankinis?

I usually always wear a bikini but this year I'm bigger than ever before.

I've trawled the Internet for weeks Next, Debenhams, Fig Leaves, Bravissimo, Freya, Pour Moi and more. The truth is I'm too pale and need to lose another stone.

If you want to wear a bikini and you find one you like and feel comfortable in, go for it!
The only thing that matters is that you feel good! Try to remember, most people pool/beach side won't notice what you're wearing/look like.

At 5"5 and 10.5 stone, I can't imagine you've got anything to worry about anyway!

I've no idea what size those numbers would equate to.

Get a spray tan.

Take the shit bikini back.

Have you thought of buying some bottoms with a tankini top and a bikini top? Then you can vary according to your mood.

In direct answer to your question, not only would I wear a bikini if I were you, I’d leave the top off around the pool or on the beach.

I am bigger than you and wear a bikini. It does have to be well fitting though. I have big boobs (although I currently have a lovely flat stomach after losing over 20lbs) so in your case I would wear the tankini. But don’t give up, occasionally the perfect bikini comes up. (Sorry I cannot be more help I am not in UK)

I've literally just got back from holiday and commented to a friend how most women on the beach wore bikinis - no matter what age or size they were. Was great to see. So yes, definitely wear a bikini if that's what you want. Have a great holiday.

I'm a size 18/20 and was desperately looking for bikini to wear for holiday as fed up wearing tankinis/ swimsuit and aged 55 thought why shouldn't I wear a bikini .I've seen loads of women larger than me wearing bikinis on holidays over past few years and they looked fab...
Finally went to Bravissimo this week to be measured and was astounded to find loads of styles to suit ...also amazed to find I had been wearing a 40F bra when in fact the 38HH bras/ bikini tops fitted much better!....have a look on line for Fantasie/Leia swimwear...there are loads of lovely designs for fuller busted women ( also check out Ample Bosom and Figleaves)
