In terms of styles, lengths and where they come to on the legs to look ok.

Can you recommend any particular styles or shapes and anything that you would definitely avoid?

Anything except jeans/jeggings - I'm trying to ditch them.

I am 5'2 and size 16. I mostly wear skinnies or jeggings but have branched into Jersey harems in recent years. May not be the most flattering but very comfortable and i feel happy in them.

hi I'm short and curvy with a huge ass and chunky thighs. I used to hide under baggy clothes all the time but I recently bought a pair of fitted combat trousers -not tight!!- with cuffed ankles ( wide legged trousers are the enemy, make my legs look six inches long) and they seem to flatter my figure well and I can wear them with any top. I got them from superdry. I also love a jumpsuit, again with cuffed ankles and some form of belt or tie around the waist. I decided its better to show off the curves with clingy clothes rather than hide under baggy layers that just make me look like a blob.

I'm short and very hourglass , size 14 mostly . I wear jumpsuits , wide leg trousers with a fitted vest , cropped culottes , fitted dresses ... everything that shows I go in at the waist basically .. I'm very well covered but people often say I look lovely or have a lovely figure so I guess it must be ok 🤷‍♀️

Gap curvy skinny ankle pants are my favourite trousers. Lots of dresses that flare out from the waist. I'm happy to buy something too long and get it taken up to knee length, as petite range dresses are too short on the body for me.

I'm short and fat. I generally wear skinny jeans or trousers with a loose top, something girly and blousey or a t-shirt and checked shirt. Plain dark colours on the bottom and bright colours and patterns on the top. For work I wear knee length pencil skirts with blouses tucked in.

I tend to buy my jeans and trousers from next or Dorothy Perkins to get the petite sizes. My skirts for work are actually from M&S I think because the ones from next were too long even in petite!

I generally try to avoid anything that sits between my knee and ankle, especially midi skirts.

How curvy do you mean? If you are a size 8 or 10 then you'll probably look good in most things. If you are larger then you might need to consider things more but you can still wear whatever the hell you like and feel comfortable in. I love wide legged trousers (including the cropped ones) so like those, I also have harem pants (from Hush, yes I'm a MN cliche).

I'm 5'3" and a size 16 so watching this with interest... I tend to wear next straight jeans as they have a very very small boot cut in them (god I miss the boot cut days), which seems to balance out my arse... I do actually find wide leg trousers don't look too bad. I'm off to try some cuffed trousers, after reading this thread, as I'd always thought they'd look terrible.

As for skirts, I wear midi or maxi length, lines with some 'suck in' pants on. I find skirts usually look better

I'm 4ft 10 and size 12-14 (32FF). I very rarely wear jeans, the only pair that suits me are a pair of denim capri pants from Monsoon that are like 7/8 trousers on me. I look best in slightly fitted or skimming dresses - above the knee with tights and ankle boots in winter and just on the knee with flat sandals or brogues (I never wear heels) in summer. I dislike the current trend for midi-length skirts and dresses as this length is really unflattering on me but because it is so "in" at the moment I feel I look frumpy in my knee-length skirts and dresses! I can't wear any wide-legged trousers. Outside of work in summer I wear mid-thigh length shorts with floaty tops.
