which enclosure?

Nbg · 26/07/2007 10:32

this would look great with the dress

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 10:33

Ladies Day where? This makes a difference.

Also get a decent raincoat.

hoolagirl · 26/07/2007 10:37

Thanks, computer going really slow this morning.
Its at Ayr racecourse, don't know about enclosures?

aha, if Ayr you should be ok - some places have rules re skirt length, shoulder coverage etc.

fascinator is a good idea, hat less good in rain

remember to wear wedges not spike heels so you don't sink into the grass

Nbg · 26/07/2007 10:45

Btw should have said, that fascinator comes in red.

Nbg · 26/07/2007 10:47

have just found this too

hoolagirl · 26/07/2007 10:51

I like the hat, hope its not too windy!
Thanks for tip on shoes, was just looking at spikey heels!
So dress ok then?

Dress is great

MrsBadger · 26/07/2007 10:53

yes, but do take something to put over it (wrap, pashmina, fitted red or white mac)

Nbg · 26/07/2007 10:55

and I would get one of those clear umberellas just in case it pees down.

hoolagirl · 26/07/2007 10:56

Mac sounds good, will probably be freezing seeing as its Ayr!

hoolagirl · 26/07/2007 12:24

what about this mac or this one

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 26/07/2007 12:52

second one looks better - more fitted

chopster · 26/07/2007 13:02

I was at ladies day at ascot, and I don't recall seeing anybody in a mac. Mostly wore short summery dresses and pashminas. Lots wore spikey heels too, was hilarious watching them walking in them. I'd take an umberella rahter than a mac.

(btw, i was there watching with the kids, not in the enclosures!)

MrsBadger · 26/07/2007 13:05

yeah, but I bet some of them wish they'd had macs...

chopster · 26/07/2007 13:08

oh yeah, they looked bloody freezing. We had macs, and wellies.

Just not sure if it is the done thing...

MrsBadger · 26/07/2007 13:09

(NB we are suggesting pretty fitted macs suitable for eg wearing to a wedding, not Millet's finest, you know )

hoolagirl · 26/07/2007 13:21

I do have some nice pink wellies
