What to wear under sweetheart neck to make it suitable for daytime?

Hi all
As above really, ive some lovely cotton dresses which look great but have a sweetheart neckline, which seems a bit low for the daytime. Any ideas what i can put underneath to maintain some dignity?

Thank you!

I think that looks lovely on you, and not too much for day time. You’ve actually got a fab cleavage! It’s personal preference, but you could get cami tops, either lace topped ones or silky ones and you’d just see a little peep of it under the dress but they would cover the cleavage.

Isthebigwomanhere · 21/06/2019 18:19

A modesty square or a silk cami perhaps

weAllSingAlongLikeBefore · 21/06/2019 18:20

I can only think of a vest top or sewing in a little insert to make it less revealing. Have you tried it without a push up bra? It looks great by the way!

InterestingShipNames · 21/06/2019 18:23

Uniqclo do vests and cami tops in lots of colours - I wear them under blouses at work to make sure that there’s no possibility of cleavage showing and they work well.

CarolinePooter · 21/06/2019 18:23

I use a knit silk cami with shoestring straps. It's as light as a feather and just covers the cleavage. I am short so v necks come too low on me, too.

Vest top or maternity belly band pulled over the boobs (if you have one lying about, don't buy one especially) or similar?

RavenLG · 21/06/2019 18:24

Vest top or insert but I think they would make it look very frumpy

Justme1981 · 21/06/2019 18:25

Thanks everyone for all the compliments 😊 might have to try a cami top, perhaps its more of a confidence thing

@CarolinePooter where do you get your cami from? Sounds like it may work

Hi justme mine is Thermasilk, but I think Patra would have the same thing. They are sold as thermal underwear but are cool in summer. The main thing is to get silk jersey then it's very thin and stretchy. Amazon or eBay are good for silk jersey.

Justme1981 · 21/06/2019 19:39

Thank you - definitely needs to be something cool

I'm also interested in this as so many of the summer dresses for sale now are too low cut for me. I'd be looking for something that's not another layer like a vest top though. Does anything exist like a bra that comes up high, but would look like I'm wearing a cami underneath.

Viviene · 21/06/2019 20:17

Is this for work? If yes then I can see your point, if not, it looks great on you and you don't need anything :-) the dress is lovely on you.

Gwenhwyfar · 21/06/2019 20:19

It's up her to whether she wants to show her cleavage though isn't it Viviene? It's not compulsory.

Redcrayons · 21/06/2019 20:23

I have a variety of Cami and vest tops for the same reason. Although I don't think that top needs it, you look great.

BikeRunSki · 21/06/2019 20:28

Google “modesty panels”.

Justme1981 · 21/06/2019 20:33

Thanks all - its just for day at home / out with my little boy, definitely too low for work!

I googled a bit and what I saw was the option of a kind of boob top type bra and also the option of a full slip underneath rather than just a cami as that might give a better shape.

BikeRunSki · 21/06/2019 21:53

This is the kind of thing I meant. It clips on to bra straps.

Viviene · 21/06/2019 23:25

Hmm if you want to cover up cleavage you could try scarves if the weather is not too
hot?

Ohyesiam · 21/06/2019 23:27

You have a great figure.
Avon sometimes do modesty panels, or google it.

thenightsky · 21/06/2019 23:30

I bought a bra from M&S that looks like a cami but I can't seem to find it on line to do a link.

Jsmith99 · 21/06/2019 23:35

It looks absolutely fine as it is and you look great, OP. I’m a bit Envy of your lovely figure.

Justme1981 · 22/06/2019 07:14

Thanks everyone ! I'll have a look at modesty panels, just dont want to look frumpy either (yep never happy!)
