Clearing out my wardrobe - keep or dispose

DamnItChloe2 · 17/06/2019 08:16

As I wait for the arrival of my first born I thought I would clear out my wardrobe.

I’m very much a buy once wear once owner and I would like to change this moving forward.

Anyone want to vote on my clothes on a keep or throw basis? If left to my own devises I would keep everything so be as harsh as possible Grin

I’m 5’11 and a size 10-12 for idea of body shape, I’m as white as Casper with red hair.

First 3 items - keep or dispose?

I’m in love with the red one!

They all seem lovely but will you genuinely wear them again? If not, donate otherwise it's a terrible waste. Clothes shouldn't be wear once only.

fashiondevotee · 17/06/2019 16:42

Keep the khaki green shirt dress on the most recent lot. It's a classic that's not going to date.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/06/2019 18:21

Keep them all - for now.

Don't buy any more 'occasion' outfits.

Focus on what you want to wear day to day for the next few months and sort out the things in your wardrobe that allow that. Only buy new things to plug gaps - eg: some basic jeans, t-shirts, casual dresses.

Then review again in September.

Can I have dress number 2 (in the original 3) Wink

Randomrainbow · 18/06/2019 02:57

Posting every item is time consuming. And confusing since everyone will not like the same things you do?

I suggest sorting out the items that are your favourite colours or shapes.. Or looking at them as if you were in a shop and saying would I buy that now. If I was shopping.

If you would buy it and it's comfortable on then it might be somthing you can wear more than once
So it's worth keeping :)

MissLadyM · 18/06/2019 03:16

Can't judge unless you wear them!

JaneEyreAgain · 18/06/2019 17:15

Clearing out and then finding yourself rebuying would be a waste of time and effort.

Take out anything you think you would not wear again. Don't try to redefine yourself or your style into someone who only had Breton stripes, a navy blazer and a few timeless pairs of trousers.

Divide your clothes into daily wear and occasion wear and then into summer, winter and mid-season. Put clothes elsewhere when not in season. Swap your wardrobe round when necessary. If you have more than 20 dresses in any one section then I would suggest a cull.

If you get through a whole season without wearing something, then consider passing it on but make them visible so that you can consider them when the opportunity arises. If you find yourself trying something on several times and discarding it for something else... perhaps it's time to pass it on.

Do you buy all your clothes from one place? All the photos are taken with the same background. Confused

Greenglassteacup · 18/06/2019 18:13

It’s hard to say without seeing YOU wearing them

WhereForArtThouBray · 18/06/2019 18:19

If you are going on Mat leave it would be better to wait and see what suits you post baby.

Holibobsing · 18/06/2019 18:32

I love all of your clothes! I'm 5.10 and size 14 so placemarking so I can lose dress size and copy! Very feminine and flattering .Where do you buy them please? I'd love to have such a collection.

Maybe future buys , I'd go for more mix n match.

outofnothing · 18/06/2019 18:34

Kittiecat I agree. Who has photos like these of all their clothes?

Holibobsing · 18/06/2019 18:36

Just realised, asos tall !

fancynancyclancy · 18/06/2019 19:23

I’m a bit similar to you in that if I buy a dress for an event I tend to wear it twice max so I try to sell them on. Day clothes I can keep for years.

If your never go wear stuff like the red dress again get rid.

I’d keep the long playsuit & the khaki shirt.

Justonedayatatime11 · 18/06/2019 19:39

Some of these are stunning, I'd be interested in buying if you'd like to pm me

Snog · 18/06/2019 22:33

Photo 1 keep all
Photo 2 bin all
Photo 3 keep the last one
Photo 4 keep the last two
Photo 5 keep the last two

Stumpedasatree · 18/06/2019 23:02

I'll have the khaki shirt dress and the pinstriped dress please if you want to sell, they're gorgeous. Sorry no help here but totally love your wardrobe Smile

escapade1234 · 18/06/2019 23:07

I’d need to see you in them so if you could just do a quick photo shoot that would be helpful.

shinynewapple · 19/06/2019 23:26

The silvery blue dress in first set of pics is beautiful. I would keep that in my wardrobe for years and just look at it!
