Which mascara next?

My Dior mascara has gone a bit clumpy so I’m due a new one. I was never that impressed with it. I’m after length rather than volume. In the past I’ve liked Clinique lash power and benefit rollerlash. Is there anything else around that’s worth a try at the moment?

I've tried so many over the years from cheap to expensive and I always fall back to ysl www.yslbeauty.co.uk/makeup/eyes/mascara the others just don't compare to me

Makemeaname · 08/06/2019 15:33

@fatted really? I find the telescopic so clumpy

Notsureabouthis · 08/06/2019 15:41

Hourglass one is amazing. The bronze tube

hellodarkness · 08/06/2019 15:46

I like Urban Decay Perversion.

I was disappointed with Benefit. You also pay over the odds for what is essentially, in the US, a cheap brand.

Had an Eyeko sample in the M&S advent calendar that I liked but recently ordered a full size one and was disappointed with that too, took ages to dry so I ended up with black smudges where I'd blinked.

Has anyone tried Too Faced better than sex? Is it any good?

MustardScreams · 08/06/2019 17:10

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye is The Mascara. I’ve tried millions (slightly exaggeration) of others and none come close.

Juicyfrooty · 08/06/2019 17:14

Maybelline Lash Sensational
Loreal Lash Paradise
Max Factor Masterpiece Max

My top 3, dont think expensive ones are worth it.

taybert · 08/06/2019 17:17

Thanks everyone! I got a mini of They’re Real to try today and will look in to the others if it doesn’t suit. I was quite tempted just to go for roller lash again though.

Another vote for L’Oréal Telescopic. Carbon Black (harder to find in shops than the regular black one as it always seems to be sold out, but easily found on Amazon).

Violetroselily · 08/06/2019 17:22

Too Faces Better than Sex is my holy grail. Nothing comes close.

rodentforce · 08/06/2019 17:24

I like Maybelline Lash Sensational except for the nasty silicone wand - I much prefer a bristle one.

The last few times I've bought Collection Lash Surge (under £4) on Mumsnet recommendations and I like it and will continue to buy ...

nixso29 · 08/06/2019 17:32

I have tried every mascara under the sun both high end and drug store, always always go back to Maybelline Lash Sensational every time

BoogieNites · 08/06/2019 17:45

Rimmel Flash

thenightsky · 08/06/2019 18:27

Don't fall for Maybelline Snapscara. I bought it due to the spiel on the description saying 'non-clumping' Its gone clumpy after about 3 applications Sad

toottootchuggachugga · 08/06/2019 20:30

No love for Lancôme Monsieur Big? HG for me

flamed12 · 08/06/2019 20:33

Better than sex for me.

lhastingsmua · 08/06/2019 21:01

I don’t like better than sex, I find it clumpy and messy, it always flakes off and ruins my under eye or brow bone

Verite1 · 09/06/2019 12:14

I like Lancôme hypnose for every day. By Terry twist mascara amazing for more dramatic evening look. Benefit mascaras are ok but they irritate my eyes sometimes. I hated Charlotte tilbury - found it had no staying power and flaked and smudged.

f83mx · 09/06/2019 12:22

Another Lancôme hypnoses fan here

DameDoom · 09/06/2019 12:53

After many a foray into Dior, Chanel, Tilbury and Hourglass, I have come to the conclusion that - for my eyes anyway - there is nothing that comes even close to Clinique's Lash Power so I am not even going to try anymore. I have oily lids, hayfever and wear contacts and LP doesn't give me clumps, panda eyes and it doesn't irritate.
