Just wear clothes mate. All this new fangled “festival fashion” is fucking stupid and ridiculed by anyone who actually goes to festivals for the music.

Jeans, band t-shirt and some trainers will do the job. You will be very glad of comfort and practicality when it starts pissing it down.

Wear whatever your comfortable in!

Shorts are practical in the rain. Your legs dry a hell of a lot quicker than jeans will.

Agree that “festival” clothes are a silly idea, lots of sequins etc which aren’t practical for the weather and also annoy me from the sustainability perspective, it’s like fancy dress costumes that only get worn once.
I would take comfy normal clothes and layers, so t shirts, shirts, shacket etc also a waterproof.

Work out what the weather will most likely do (near the time) a wear what will be comfy for standing about all day/sitting on grass
OR
Wear the most over the top vintage sequinned velvet magnificence that you'd never wear elsewhere and don't mind getting trashed.

Those are my 2 options.

Dress for the weather and take extra layers for when it gets dark as you will get cold.
I wore a midi skirt and a band teeshirt and my vans to a one day festival, then had my leather jacket, leggings and a thermal top in my rucksack.

Some festivals are more glittery than others, but one of the joys of festivals is that no one will bat an eyelid whatever you wear. Just wear normal comfy clothes and consider waterproof footwear if grass is likely to be wet.

For your bag: hat/ sunscreen/ loo roll / ear plugs (some tents are very loud and plugs help take the edge off - loads of people wear them) / phone charger / cash and snacks. Water bottle.

Have a great time.
