Which type of laser for hair removal on darker skin?

I have heard about diode and soprano and is there something called platinum?
Its for hair removal on my face. I am not sure if the hair on my chinny chin chin is hormonal though.

ND Yag laser or electrolysis? You could phone up local places and ask what the best options are.

I have dark skin. I was told by a therapist that IPL is a light based laser and so the dark hair/light skin combination works best, although it can be used on many skin type regardless. The therapist had light skin and light hair and she said it did nothing for her though.

I have a heat based laser treatment which is great. I was told that as this is a heat based treatment, it can work on a wider range of skin types.
