What tops do you wear for work in the summer if you wear cropped trousers?

I generally wear trousers (usually navy) - tapered cropped types.

I want cotton/linen
A sleeve of some sort - can be a capped sleeve. Just don't like sleeveless.
I don't want t shirts
I don't want pale colours - don't suit them - but not sure what to wear with navy trousers. Stripes?
Need to be not flowing/baggy.

Lots of people wear these pants in the summer so what tops do you wear?

Following because I have this problem. Stripes are feeling a bit too 6 yrs ago for me now but they do keep popping up. I saw a nice blouse/top in River island but didn't buy it. A kind of steel grey/ blue.

I know it's not Mumsnetty, but I wear Seasalt or white stuff tops to work with my similar sounding trousers. Some are sleeveless but smart ( not allowed thin straps) and some have short or 3/4 sleeves. Bright colours, patterned usually.

I wear navy cigarette trousers and I also got a nice pair of navy culottes too, I have got a short cap sleeve white broderie anglaise shirt which looks nice, I also got a few short sleeve fitted blouses from Dorothy Perkins surprisingly, have a look through their site. I like white, camel, orange/coral and pale blue with navy.

Uniqlo is usually the 1st place I look but not seen much to inspire me - don't like shirts too much either.

White broderie anglaise looks lovely on everyone else but washes me out - plus I end up with suncream stains etc around the neckline.

Cropped cotton trousers, current favourites are Pure Collection from a couple of years ago, a short-sleeved silk top & linen blazer.

It depends on what type of cropped trousers. I have some really wide leg ones that make me look like a sack unless worn with a tight top/tee but they are so cool and comfy. I also have some tighter ones that graze my ankle which look better with a slightly baggier top or blouse.

I wear quite fitted crops and like them with a Boden Ravello top ( like the Mumsnet sheep I am), which is short sleeved, no collar, sort of silky material. I have them it cream, emerald green and pink. I also found a lovely long sleeved collarless blouse ( think it's viscose) in Hobbs, so that might be worth a look.

I wear silk shirts. Other Stories or Boden have a good selection. I also like linen t-shirts (lovely drape) or tops which I buy from all over.
