Too scared to go bravissimo..

I’m currently wearing a 38d padded bra from Asda. It’s doing absolutely nothing for me. My nipples fall out the top, it rises up, and my back fat is gross. But I don’t want to pay for another crappy bra. I really need to get measured. I tried a 38dd on and it still felt abit small, but much bettter. The band was abit big too. Anyway, I really want to go bravissimo but I’m terrified they will tell me I’m too small chested to shop there. I have tubular breasts so not much tissue and they are saggy 😩😩

I haven’t been measured since I was 17 in M&S when they shouted I was a 48 (no where near I was a size 20!!) C and they had nothing that would fit 😩😩

Don't be scared of Bravissimo - just go! I think I looked at myself in every shop window I passed after my first visit.

Go! I've done the boob or bust thing and must've spent hundreds on different bras, everything is just shit and nothing fits properly.

I finally but the bullet, stopped being tight and trying to get 2 bras for £20, and went to Bravissimo to get properly fitted.

I'd been wearing 36G for years, boob or bust made me 34J (yes it was uncomfortable), and bravissimo measured me at 36HH. Perfect fit.

They are very very nice, very kind and reassuring and I'm pretty sure the sizes start at C or D. I'm a size 18 so a bit self conscious, but I was quite quickly chatting to the woman about the colour on my nails while my tits were out, the shyness fades as they are so busy checking the fit! Blush

I now have some fab bras that are so forward projecting that I look 2 sizes slimmer from the front and my baps are no longer pushing my arms outwards.

Please go to Bravissimo. They seen every type of boob in their and a good bra really is life changing. I got this one on my first trip and it changed my shape, posture and confidence. I've been bunting this specific one for about 12 years now

They are lovely - totally changed my sizing, but also the style . They see every variation of shape and size on a daily basis. A properly fitting bra is more comfortable but also makes clothes hang properly.

SinkGirl · 20/05/2019 19:50

Signed I looked at that one but saw it doesn’t fit the model properly and put me off! Will try it if the ones I bought don’t fit right.

I bought a lovely red lace thing that’s front fastening and looks so comfy - really hoping it fits - as well as some more practical ones. Wish I’d paid for faster delivery now!

SignedUpJust4This · 20/05/2019 20:03

It is odd that it doesn't fit model properly. Maybe they just couldn't get a good fit on her but still had to have a photo. Fits me like a glove. Maybe I should be a model?

MrsScamander · 20/05/2019 20:12

You will be fine, don't worry 😊 ex-bra fitter here and I can assure you they will do everything they can to help

On a sidenote, I'm a size 20 and Wear a back size 36, in my 5 years of bra fitting I never fitted anyone above a size 44 Grin

dementedpixie · 20/05/2019 20:20

I'm a 20/22 and also wear a 36 back (36GG)

StCharlotte · 20/05/2019 22:27

I haven’t been measured since I was 17 in M&S when they shouted I was a 48 (no where near I was a size 20!!)

Isn't a 48 the European equivalent to a UK size 20?

SinkGirl · 20/05/2019 23:04

Really? I’m a size 12-14 on top these days but I do have a wide ribcage, always have done. When I was pregnant and a size 12 I was buying 40C!

dementedpixie · 21/05/2019 06:45

There's no way you are a 40 back at that dress size. I got measured as 40C in M&S but am actually 36GG - dress size 20/22

RockinHippy · 21/05/2019 07:06

I wouldn't waste your time with Bravissimo, in my experience they are shite & you'll likely be conned into buying something uncomfortable & scratchy that doesn't fit properly. Worst bra I've ever bought & I know several others who say the same & I still kick myself for buying it.

The one person I know who swears by them falls for their vanity sizing & likes that her Bravissimo cup size is humongous with tiny band as she's forever boasting about it, yet even through her clothes, her bra visibly fits badly.

Victoria's Secret incorrectly measured DD to fit what they had, rather than what DD needed. M&S were better, but probably depends where you are & individual staff

The others are hit & miss & only as good as the staff member measuring you. I'd recommend self measuring with this site instead...

I can't get on with Asda bras either OP. (Their swimwear is lovely, mind you!)

I tend to end up at M&S but I don't trust them to measure accurately, so it's just trial and error. I refuse to spend a lot of money on bras but I do appreciate the difference a good fit makes.

This one is great, very comfortable and makes clothes hang really well. It was pointed out to me as a popular style, I wouldn't have picked it otherwise.

@SinkGirl I’m a size 12 and a 30/32. You definitely needed a smaller band and a bigger cup.

SinkGirl · 21/05/2019 22:20

I definitely do - will have to see what happens when trying some on with bigger cup sizes, Fingers crossed! I am very broad around the ribs for my size but not that broad!

SinkGirl · 25/05/2019 17:21

Did you go OP?

I got my order - I’ve thrown away my 40B and 38C bras because the ones that actually fit me are 36F (although I didn’t get any 34FF which I think would fit slightly better). Unfortunately mine are different sizes so 36E is too small for one boob and 36F is slightly big for the other. Stretchy lace and balconette for me I think!

I’m sure you won’t have any trouble fitting into what they sell.

I finally understand what they mean now about the cups starting under your arms - I just couldn’t visualise how that would work but it does!
