i was stupidly young, i must have looked like an idiot

i rarely wear them now, i live in flip flops and tennis shoes

TheBlonde · 19/07/2007 18:49

At Uni
Sixth form was biker boots and trainers

stepfordwife · 19/07/2007 18:53

at age of 44, still waiting for my girlie gene to kick in and start wearing high heels

have started looking at handbags longingly though...

expatinscotland · 19/07/2007 18:54

I was in ballet. Pointe shoes from about 13-14, so high heels were a doodle - in those by 15 definitely.

DangerousBeans · 19/07/2007 18:54

16 or 17.
(although had a rather fetching pair of bright red shoes, that I used to hide in my school bag and swap with my Startrites at the bus stop - when I was 13 or so)

Sheherazadethegoat · 19/07/2007 18:56

i can certainly wear high heels, walking in them is another story.

ChasingSquirrels · 19/07/2007 18:59

I'm 35, I still don't.

Hideehi · 19/07/2007 18:59

15 ish
I'm going to let mine wear them whenever she wants, they are s uncomfortable i imagine the novelty will waer off quickly

pointydog · 19/07/2007 19:16

kitten heels were teh thing to have when I was in my teens, had them by 15. My mum never banned them from what I remember but then she never banned anything.

(dd1's class put on a fashion show in teh spring and the two most popular girls both had almost stilettos on, aged 10. Looked obscene)

prob about 15 for nights out. Went through a phas of wearing them to work in my late teens. Now I only wear them if I'm out on the town

Hulababy · 19/07/2007 19:24

Probably not until 6th form! Didn't really go out at night much before that. Actually maybe had some small heels at about 15 for going out for6= best with family.

Saw a child of about 4 at Gulliver's Kingdom today in white sandals with heel - and not a tiny one either. Was ridiculous. Child couldn't walk in them properly and had to be helped in and out of every ride because of them

serenity · 19/07/2007 19:25

Never been one for stilletoes, but I had my first pair of boots with a heel when I was 15 or 16, essentially when I started buying my own clothes with my own money (ditto mini skirts, make up etc)

electra · 19/07/2007 20:27

14

Botbot · 19/07/2007 20:31

Was a bit of a Doctor Marten's-type late-80s teenager, so probably not till I was in my early twenties. Then I stopped when I was 25 after a horrific ankle-snapping incident while a bit pissed in ridiculous Spice Girl-type wedges. Haven't really bothered since apart from at weddings and posh dos, and still have a metal plate halfway up my leg!

Nymphadora · 19/07/2007 20:34

15 ish but they were chunky ones , just bought my first pair of pointy heels (not quite stilettos) at 28
