I don't wear much make up but I do get it done if I'm going out. Thankfully I'm only a guest and not the bride in case the title is ambiguous!

I'm not so fussed about my eyes or lashes but I'd like to try and get the foundation right- I have quite blotchy, red skin.

I can get to a Boots or a House of Fraser tomorrow morning. What do I buy? I use apply foundation in the same manner as I clean my face, that is rub and hope for the best.

You could go to house of Fraser and ask for a demo of the products. You could end up getting your make up done there. You'd be expected to buy something though

Most of the counters in HOF Boots etc will offer at least a foundation match so maybe if you told them you are wanting to buy a product they would do an application for you even if it's just face makeup!

It's the timings of everything that's stopping me from doing that.

Ceremony is at 4. My initial plan was drop the kids off at 1.30, make up appointment was at 2.

I don't want to brave the city centre at 2, so I was going to go really early.
