Perfume for my wedding day

I am getting married next month and would love recommendations for a long lasting fresh clean smelling perfume. I want something different to my everyday perfumes (Hugo Deep Red, Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and Penhaligons Juniper Sling) any ideas very welcome!

I wore Love Story by Chloe, mostly because I loved the name but also because it has a lovely, slightly flowery, summery fragrance that suited our wedding date.

Armani She was my wedding scent. It was what I wore when I met my DH.

I feel like the sentimentality of the scent was more important than what I wanted to wear. It was a wave of nostalgia, and that meant a lot to me on the day and forever more.

I wore J'adore for mine. It was the first perfume DH bought me.

Another vote for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle - sounds like it fits your style

I wore Estée Lauder Beautiful on my wedding day

OP - the Friendly Perfumistas love this sort of question, if you feel like popping over.

A couple of thoughts:

I second Thedarklady's suggestion of Chinatown.

You might like 4160 Tuesday's White Queen - interesting soapy, creamy non-sweet gourmand (samples can be order on their website).

Miller Harris's Etui Noir is a long lasting, very elegant clean smelling iris leather.

Are you near an Annick Goutal or Acqua di Parma stockist? For clean smells it would be worth sniffing your way around both ranges.

Creed love in white?

kyles101 · 16/05/2019 23:36

Jimmy choo blossom - so pretty, one of my current faves.

Hermes twilly if you want something really different, it's quite heavy though so probs not for a summer wedding

I wore "Dolce" by Dolce & Gabana

DramaAlpaca · 16/05/2019 23:53

I wore Anais Anais. In my defence it was 1990.

SospanFrangipan · 17/05/2019 00:09

I wore Ralph Lauren, Romance 🥰I love it!

I wore Paris by YSL - we went to Paris on honeymoon too. For years even a whiff brought me right back to my wedding day and honeymoon. Getting a new perfume for your wedding is a great way to reinforce memories.

*DramaAlpaca" anais anais was my favourite scent from the 1980s- could rarely afford it but when I could! I bought anais anais for my teenage daughter for christmas and I loved it so much all over again I said to hell with it and bought a bottle for myself.

I don't think you should change what you usually wear. Your partner already associates that scent, even subconsciously with you.

That said, buy a heap of samples/perfume Parlour dupes and have a lovely time.

Pallisers: Anaïs Anaïs is still my comfort food perfume (and I have over 250) so many memories. I am going somewhere this summer that I haven't been to in 30 years, but wore AA there, so that's what I'll be wearing this summer. (ps, any AA nostalgics need to buy it with the word "originale" on the box, there are now 2 versions, the one which doesn't say "originale" is much sweeter. A Pink Minger as we call them in Perfumista land!)

I wore ‘Elisabethan Rose’ by Penhaligon’s. You can get the bottle engraved, which makes it a beautiful memento of the day :)
